Why did Thomas Hearns wear the Star Of David on his shorts?

    I was watching Hearns vs Leonard 2 and noticed he was wearing the Star Of David on his shorts.
    Why is this?

    I believe he had ties to Jackie Kallen, who was/is Jewish. James Toney did the same.

    He also had a Jewish manager named Jimmy Iselin. Jimmy’s father was an owner of the New York Jets when they won Super Bowl 3 with Joe Namath.
