Why did USADA stop blood testing Floyd & Shane 18 days prior to their fight?

  1. Out of interest, has anyone posted a source for this?

I have two bridges and a tunnell to sell you. Lets make a deal ASAP:deal. I'm open anytime for negotiations. Don't wait, this one time offer could be the deal of a lifetime.

It's a perfectly valid question that many here are misunderstanding. The USADA had a very good chance to make a statement and prove their method works and is safe. But by stopping the test 18 days prior they failed to do that.

If you were the USADA would you have done the same? Would you have stopped testing 18 days to the fight? I sure would've not.

But Mayweather didn't find an opponent. I mean, if I were him I'd do it for the legacy plus the money. But I'm not him so that's pretty moot. I agree that Pac's team haven't done any favors being confusing and inconsistent.

Trick as in a PR bluff?

I think 7 days is still reasonable. I'm not quite clear in the matter, but you seem to suggest that the USADA didn't want to test within 18 days because they didn't want to risk it (There's more risk of a hematoma closer to the fight, correct?). So even if there's a zero day window, how far would the USADA testing go? Wouldn't team Pac already know or have a sense of this. Or was that just completely random, and USADA could test within a 7 day period if they wished (And safely ensure doing so?)

I really can't put myself in Mayweather's shoes. It's absolutely impossible. It's kind of like when people criticize Ali for being racist or Tyson being a bit nutty. I didn't live through their rough and unstable past. Tyson specifically more so in this example. However, if I grew up in a racist society that didn't allow me to eat at restaurants I might be able to be corrupted by the NOI the way Ali was. These things take immense perspective.

However, if it were me. No, I would fight. I would want to prove I was the best. I would also be getting 40+ million doing so in the process. Floyd is always the villian but he's even more the villain not because of the 1st fallout but because of the 2nd falllout. He just lost leverage and credibility with fans with his "No urge, on vacation." The fact that it seems, at least through PR that Team Pac might have been willing to compromise down to 7 days... well then I don't really see the justifications to not fight. To take a 40 million dollar stance now would be like like for Pac to not take a 40 million dollar blood test.

Here's what I think. I think Floyd's lost some confidence. When Mosley shook him up with that right hand he lost confidence. He's become a bit erratic since. I noticed he was so confidence and outspoken saying Pac is walking away from this fight where I compromised a 14 day cutoff. Now, fights aren't too important and he's not even thinking about it. I don't know man... I just think he's a little unsure of himself.

That's one thing Mayweather hasn't done. He hasn't contradicted himself or be inconsistent. He's been unusually quiet but consistent. Pac and his team on the other hand... just a different story.

You have to admit his team effed up a bit with Ellerbe saying "No negotiations took place."

He might be. I'm not sure, though. I think he may get doses of things and has the power to say "No, let's press this Floyd fight." But he goes along with the Mosley show. It's an exciting fight (Because Bob told him) and it will make him a lot of money. Win for all. Does he got told about all these negotiation details? I don't know, I don't know why he would make himself look so stupid in interviews (Like the one before the Clottey fight). He just sayings things like "I take the tests." But no, he only agreed to a 7 day cutoff. And why should he know everything. If he knows all the details it just makes it harder for Bob to set his agenda and stray his cash-cow away. Because if Pac knows everything it makes it easier to make a fight. Instead, it seems like there's some weird confusion about all the details between Pac, Roach, Arum, and the rest of his team. I believe Arum has a lot of power over Pac. Part that power comes from keeping Pac ignorant.

    Thanks for the dates.

Interesting. That looks like a perfectly good set of random distribution to me. I would devise a similar set like that but add a test 3-4 days before the fight. And perhaps do a test with a one day interval to catch those who think they could dope after a test has been done.

Looks like a political rival decided to rent some vans from Pac's rent-a-car business do some bad deeds. You're right. Pac is guilty. :nut

"Local television reports here showed Pacquiao denying involvement on the attempted ambush on Mayor Yap. Pacquiao did not discount the possibility though that they own the vans but explained that it could be

    Because they chose to.

And I am only going to say this once, Random means Random, NOT a cut off date. They can chose to independently to cutoff testing 2 weeks before the fight or 2 hours. Main point is that they chose that date, not anyone else.
