Floyd isn't asking for "testing" up until the day of the fight, he's asking for the possibility of testing up until the day of the fight, there is a huge difference.

excactly my friend, how can you trust them and sign the contract that allows them to do it.(USADA, NSAC, anybody else) not to take a blood sample in the day of the fight when it already happens before? remember if they do it to everybody pac has no qualms with it (from his own mouth)

That is called a hematoma. That is why the USADA won't test close to the fight. That is why Mosley and Mayweather got a 18 day testing cut off.

All of this is known to the testers. Pac relies on the ignorance of his fans to try to make his position make sense. Doesn't matter what he says. Pac fans are ignorant so they think it is reasonable.

There aren't any saftey risks if they follow their procedures idiot. If they follow the made up crap that Pac perpetuates, which they don't, we would be having a different discussion.

From the looks of your second statement you don't have the ability to be smart. Driving a car is safe. Just because you chose to drive a car 120 mph, not wearing a seat belt, with the convertible top down, and regularly let go of the wheel does that make me a "hypocrite" because I then say the way you drive is unsafe?

    Pac fans are idiots.

7 day cut off is completely resonable. Anyone who isn't a Floyd fanatic can see Floyd will never take this fight. The end.

Do you realize how stupid you sound? How can you trust them? How can you trust anyone? How can you trust people to pay you? How can you trust your girlfriend to be a good wife? How can you trust the water/food you ingest not to be poisoned? It didn't happen before because that blood was taken by the COMMISSION not the damned USADA.

The USADA/WADA do ALL of the testing for the Olympics. They seem perfectly fine breaking world records.

Seriously Pac has the dumbest fans on the planet.

Hey idiot, so why didn't he say he agreed to a 7 day cut off BEFORE the world found out on HBO 24/7?

I will tell you why. He knew that the public would realize he didn't want the fight! :deal

I think it's logical to assume the United States Anti Doping Agency's doctors and scientists know what the **** they are doing. It amazes me that you would rather try to take a run and/or match wits with people who are eons more qualified to distinguish how and when to test than anyone here, as opposed to the dude who just won't do it. Essentially you are saying Manny and his "stance" are justified because all the other athletes around the world, the doctors and scientists who contributed to the formulation of these tests and procedures, and those who implement them just aren't as smart as he is...Great point man.

Whoo those guys are some characters!

He doesn't leave his house every morning because someone on the planet died therefore PROVING that leaving the house isn't "safe". :patsch

Ok if that's from his own mouth then there shouldn't be a problem, because everybody who would be in the ring (other than the referee) would have submitted the same samples. If Pac had to give blood as he walked to the ring, then PBF would too, so no advantage gained.

Thanks for the answer slick. That's all this thread was about. Travis Tygart said there was no saftey risks involved in blood testing. If it was known to the testers (including USADA) why didn't they just say so in the first place? No, they had to say "there's nothing to worry about, it's completely safe" and "an athlete can use and cycle away PEDs in 2 days", and then decides to stop blood testing Floyd and Shane nearly 3 weeks out.

I knew the risks of taking blood. ****, my best friend was donating blood 2 years ago and her vein came out but the needle stayed in the vein. The hospital staff rushed in, not to help her, but to escort away and cover the mouth of the medical assistant who goofed. I didn't know such things happened but she explained to me had the needle come loose from her exposed vein, she may have died.

Remember, the NSAC looked into incorporating blood testing into their procedures earlier this year. They hired 2 doctors who were involved in boxing at one time and they did their own study on blood testing boxers. Their conclusion: Blood testing was unnecessary and even potentially dangerous to a boxer who already stands to lose more blood in a fight. in the end, blood testing was rejected by the NSAC.

ummm...maybe a hematoma can develop if the blood was drawn from the artery BUT blood taken from the vein is completely safe in my opinion. if blood is taken from the artery (like for an ABG test), it is recommended the client puts pressure on it for a prolonged period of time to stem the blood flow..i think it's 30 minutes or so. if blood is taken from the vein, you only have to put pressure there for like 2-3 minutes and VOILA no more bleeding. the needle they use for such procedures aren't big (largest bore i've used to donate blood was an 18 gauge).

wait wait wait her vein came out? wtf?! lol...someone seriously ****ED up for that to happen. unless you mean the needle itself was dislodged inside the vein and hence became a embolus (which is really really dangerous)

I work at a friend's home health business and I'm surrounded by nurses all day long. My boss (and aunt) says there is a way to insert a needle correctly when drawing blood. The hole where the blood goes through should be facing down to prevent it from hooking on to a vein or artery.

Hey people make dumb mistakes all the time. It happens.

iono cuz i've never drawn blood before but i used to work with phlebotomists (or however you spell that)...the vein coming out thingy is something i've never come across. i have seen where the needle dislodged inside the vein though

but as far as i know..when you draw blood, when you stick the needle through the skin, the bevel of the needle (the opening) should be pointing up..not pointing down

You are thick. There is "risk" in EVERYTHING in a biological world. The term "risk" when used in conversation about life is "risk" as a measurable percentage. So taking his statement as any REASONABLE person would. There are (RELATIVELY) no safety risks. So everything he said was TRUE.

You don't "know" anything. You are just in a circle of people as dumb or dumber than yourself so you are never challenged when you spout BS. I am a multi-gallon donor of blood and ex military. I have experienced numerous hematomas, violations of veins by IV(goes through the vein and drips into tissue), and countless needle pricks.

Your friend had ZERO chance of dying. A VEIN is not acting under pressure (like an artery) so a simple application of a pressure bandage would have stopped the bleeding. This would be known to any and all phlebotomists (the people taking blood) on the scene. Also, it was a damned surface vein and not large enough for her to bleed out. So unless your friend was giving blood from her inner thigh she blew smoke up your ass.

Why you idiots believe Pac becomes clearer every time you speak.
