Why did Usyk struggle against Chisora?

Chisora’s bodypunching, physicality and relentless pressure gave Usyk problems. Lucky for him that style is pretty much extinct at HW.

Because sometimes the other guy has heart, courage and skill, is trying to win, believes that he can win, sees an opportunity to advance himself, is a disciplined professional athlete, goes hard, and it takes some doing to beat him?

Its highly possible and happens often

Fighters age as they say overnight and Del was threatening to do so for years now

    It just has happened now

Dunno if it was already mentioned, but a tiny postage stamp sized ring surely helped Chisora a lot. Matchroom definitely were doing a favour to Delboy.

I had Chisora and AJ winning only 3 rounds against Usyk.

Struggle ? Where ? Why people keep repeating same things just because Usyk start slow against Chisora ?

There were many reasons for that

Watch this interview and maybe you will get it a little. SUBS ON

I think ol' Del boy has a few good scraps left in him, he's still in pretty good shape and can take a punch. I'd personally like to see him vs Ortiz or Ruiz.

Im nearly through watching it again & I have to say you're talking shyte mate .. it was pretty much one way traffic after about rounds 2/3.. if that's beat up & bullied then Breidis beat him 11/1  .. also you're not listening to anything ppl have told you either .. He had Covid, was pretty inactive for 2 years, had recent shoulder surgery & was still in between trainers too .. you're allowing him no time to adjust to the weight either. Parker is a CAREER HW & still needed a gift. Usyk should actually be praised for that performance in light of that, Chisora on his day can be a handful for any heavyweight almost, but its pretty clear in his last fight he is running on fumes now .. i think you should actually scrutinise Chisora a little more here instead of Usyk. Because its lulled you into a false sense of security for Parker a little imo.. time will bear it out.. Hype up your boy, your choice & fair play but no one seriously believes Parker has the beating of Usyk. He's NOT good enough.

I think it's probably the case that a good technical and clean rule following boxer like Usyk, will always favour and look better against a like minded fighter who chooses to try and box him.

Similar to how AJ fought him. It suited Usyk down to the ground even though AJ was bigger and stronger. The old saying a good big 'un will beat always beat a good little 'un nearly always rings true, usually if both fighters are fairly equal in things other than size. In the case with AJ although he was the bigger man he couldn't out box Usyk or out work him.

Usyk is what I consider an elite text book Queensbury rules style boxer, so when you get a much bigger aggressive and swarming attacking fighter with a decent chin like Chisora, who's relentless in coming forward and crudely trying to take your head off and break any rib he can land his glove on, a smaller but higher skilled boxer like Usyk simply has to weather the storm initially in the fight. Even David Haye described Chisora as an imposing formidable big strong man. Usyk also describe Chisora as a monster after their fight. They can't both be wrong.

I don't think for one moment that Usyk was holding back in anyway against Chisora. I think Usyk was totally switched on and just doing his best initially, and throughout the bout to adapt to the bull that was Chisora, against the matador that was himself.

All of which Usyk did well.

He didn't struggle. He was made to work.

There is a clear and obvious difference. He pretty much snoozed his way to the easy decision.

If only Parker had the same confidence in himself as you do in him. Parker lacks self-belief. That alone discounts him from competing with Usyk regardless of the skill gap. Chisora on the other hand lacks a lot skill but his self-belief is off-the-scale. It's why he's usually competitive even when losing against much more talented fighters.

You can't reference Chisora's gallant losing effort to promote Parker's chances. As for the Kronk version of Parker, well Chisora forces that kind of fight anyway - there to be hit and always in front of you.

I'd imagine Parker, presented with the constant movement of Usyk, would struggle to commit to his punches. Then there's the southpaw aspect to factor in.

Parker was a better version of himself in the Chisora rematch compared to their first fight but that better version would be neutralised by Usyk and Joe would revert to type. Don't think he gets stopped. Don't think he wins many rounds...

Hard to look good against Chisora who just bulldozes forward swinging his daft overhand right. Had Usyk winning 10-2.

If i got to deal with 1 more thread like that and write the same things over again i will definitely lose my mind and go all in!!! :pancarta:

Firstable it was second fight in the HW and he was battling rust, he was inactive for a year.

This is his own words as well from an interview after beating AJ, and the interview took place in Ukraine.
He was asked if he intentionally look bad against Chisora so AJ to accept the fight.

His manager then answer that AJ was front row at that fight and this fight made his mind to accept to fight Usyk. His manager said that AJ was thinking of dropping the belt.

After that Usyk said he was inactive, and not in great shape, cause he had hard COVID, as well as he struggling with injuries, he actually undergo surgery on his arm. He also said because of it, he need to cancel 2 times his camps in the middle of it, which everyone who is training seriously know how **** that is, and how much throws you back.

Also on top of that, as people on here loves to praise Chisora, he is a dirty, slim*****.
He was constantly holding with 1 hand and hitting with another, constantly throw punches behind the head, as well as constantly going lowblows.
Same against Usyk, same against Parker and so on. Chisora was also probably in the best shape in his life, going by his words. He prepared long time for that fight, and he took it very seriously, and still got his *** beaten.

And while people loves to praise him for his heart, maybe he should show heart where it needed the most, aka in his training camp, aka improving, and not be a complete ******* and having a cardio for 5-6 rounds only.
