Why could Mosley not deal with Forrest? did the headbutt contribute to the knockdown considering in the rematch Forrest didnt come close to hurting him and has anyone seen the amatuer fight between them id love to hear how it went?

He didnt. It was all BS. Vernon kept saying you beat speed with the jab but that was garbage. In the first bout Mosley was the aggresor. When they clashed heads early in the fight Mosley came off far worse and wasnt the same for the rest of the bout. It was clear he was badly concussed and simply never recovered. It was an amazing testament to his conditoning that he even lasted the full 12. In the rematch Mosley tried to counter and the fight was very negative and extremely close.Even Jim Watt had Mosley winning but Forrest was given the nod.

The problem with Shane is his defense has never been sound and he doesnt mind giving one to take one.But Vernon had a tremendous right hand that was landing with ease in there first fight.Shane never moved his head and never adjusted after absorbing that bad headbutt. And the fight simply made Vernon look better than he actually was. He then went into to be exposed by Mayorga who KO`ed him the first and then outworked him in the 2nd.

Mosley couldn't deal with Forrest because he used his height well and stayed behind a long, accurate left jab. He negated Shane's superior speed with timing. The way to beat Forrest is to get him on the inside or to outjab him from the outside (as Quartey was able to accomplish). Mosley is a mid range boxer/slugger without an authoritative jab or slick defensive skills. Because of this, I think Forrest is the perfect foil for his style.

Thats crap. What jab? Mosley was eating right hands all night!! Vernon stayed on the back foot and countered whilst Shane was the sole aggressor.Look how negative the next bout was. Vernon didnt do ****.Where was his fabled jab?! There was no timing there. It was a simple boomng right hand.

Your just reading those names off Boxrec arent you. Shane fought a prime Leija, Golden Johnson, John Brown, Ceballos and made 8 defences of the IBF all by knockout. I have ALL of Shanes fights on tape up until Shannan Taylor. The rest i have on PC. Iv seen all his fights from when he turned pro until now. At 35 Shane was a fearsome fighter. He was a HUGE lightweight. I recall on fight night Shane weighing as much as 159 and making weight the day before at 35. Much like Spadafora he was a huge lightweight who was able to boil himself down to 35.

When Shane took on Holiday he was undefeated.I believe Shane was actually ill when they fought and was still able to come away with the decision. He fought a ton of solid veterans and defeated every one of them convincgly. Shane was the first man to stop John Brown whow as well known for his granite chin.Shane was the truth at 35 thats real. Even the "Ring" ranked him as a top 30 ATG lightweight back in 2001.I still have that ring magazine in my collection.

Whats the point in comparing elite opposition? Where comparing Shanes career at 35 arent we? He fought a bunch of decent contenders at 35 and handled them excellently as great fighters do. Floyd meanwhile only had a handful of fights at 35. N`dou which was a spectacular KO. Sosa in a 1 sided decision and Castillo twice. But why is there comp at 35 relavent if at all? And what does this thread have to do with Floyd?

Forrest was very tall with a jab and mosley doesn't have that much head movement.
