Well what I mean is what reason did he give? I heard him say he didn't want Joshua left overs but that's not enough. You can't just dismiss a fight that you claim you wouldn't even break sweat winning when the cash value to you is much more than you have ever been paid before. So there must be something, he must of come out with some fair reasoning to turn down a career pay day surely? Some other fighters left overs vs 4 million dollars? If there is no more legitimate reasoning then I can only conclude that his team are chicken.
He asked for 7M $$$ He said he was lowballed because " fresh champ Martin got 4M " Cant make this up If you refuse for other reasons you never invoke $$$$$$$ You say its because that and that You dont ask for double the money
Well you can understand why he didn't really want that fight, Dylan is a dangerous opponent. Furthermore the comparison with AJ's win over him would always be there. Wilder not only would have to beat Whyte he would need to knock him out like AJ did, otherwise his stock would take a hit. That said, 4M would still have been a career high payday for him.
Wilder and his team eluded to the Whyte fight getting in the way of AJ because of Eddie Hearn shenanigans. AJ's latest comments besides looking weak and scared, is a shot across Wilder and his team's bow that they control when they will fight and where (the UK) and putting out a worse case scenario out there for leverage purposes. Judging from Wilder's interview last night with TBV, he doesn't want the fight in the UK so he said **** building a UK audience in so many words. Whyte is a nobody in America after all. That and Wilder tried to make a fight for a more dangerous opponent (Ortiz) that many wanted to see. Legacy over money which is rare in the sport of boxing right now, and it's not like the Whyte fight goes away, it's still out there as an option.
Too risky of a fight.People have to understand that pro boxers look at the fight game different( right or wrong) and look at numbers more than anything ( mistake) .Wilder saw a much older Ortiz and im guessing ppl whispering in his ear that he may be in fact may be true. Whyte is improving and is at that stage with fresher legs to cause real problems style wise for wilder, he hasnt even had a full training camp since Joshua..We will see how wilder does with come forward Stiverne,bc Stiverne poses less threat than whyte does bc hes basic and fight one way. I think Stiverne is going to show wilder to be overatted with just a big punch.Stivernne is not top 10 material so wilder should get him out before mid rnds but hes going to struggle in all likelyhood and look bad in this one .
Nobody wants to fight Whyte and it's a bit of a mystery. It's definitely not because he's dangerous. I think he just has a bad breath or something.
Why on earth would Wilder not want to fight in the UK? As far as building up the Joshua fight it makes most sense to be in the UK. Joshua is huge he sells out massive venues and makes crazy money. Deontay is nowhere near the same level in America. You want the money its gotta be the UK, If Joshua wants it in the UK he has the most belts he should have the say, if it went to purse bids theres only guna be 1 winner. So if Wilders problem is he doesnt want to fight in the UK, why not? What are his reasons?
I'm sure every fighter has bad breath within a couple of rounds as well as the armpits, god knows how when they clinch, how someone will able to breath while their head is being pushed towards the opponents armpits to contain them.
He said the British promoter wanted “conditions” and that was clarified to mean that he wanted options for future fights ... which would have had Hearn setting all the terms for Wilder vs. AJ. The $4M was not for Wilder vs. Whyte, it was a bid to get Wilder promotionally tied to AJ’s promoter. Wilder’s team sniffed and walked away for that reason. What do you conclude from AJ saying he wants to fight Wilder in 2019 or 2020? Does that look like bravery to you?
It wont happen in the UK mate. The reason why Hearn wants to take AJ to America,as it is a introduction to the climax which is the Wilder Fight. What is the point of Joshua fighting a mandatory in the US,then the biggest fight against a AMERICAN fighter is in the UK.Also Wilder v AJ is ppv in the US.It will be easy to make as both are tied to Showtime and the price point over their is nearly $80 for a ppv.So much money to make, both are heavyweights look to unify and America has always had a special affiliation with the Heavyweights,so theirs that extra glamour.AJ's big fights against Domestic opposition(Such as if Whyte 2 happens,Fury,Haye)will be held in the UK,and with Matchroom now locked in to the US market,it is easier now than it ever will be to make the Wilder fight.
Whyte wobbled Joshua. He would SHATTER Wilder's fragile mandible, and Wilder's handlers know it. Hence, no Whyte.
wilder just doesn't want to risk taking a loss unless hes gonna get payed millions I guess haha.i find it funny. dan rafeal on espn says 5 minutes talking towilder you can tell he wants to fight thebest... but you never see big dan talk about how wilder turned down a career high payday vs white lol...
