Nah, Wlad is a much better athlete and has much better technique than Fury. Fury is an oaf who's sole skill is being 6'9" tall and having a huge reach advantage. Wlad just needed to let his hands go and he would have knocked Fury out. He got caught up with his own cautious style waiting for Fury to make a mistake he could capitalize on, but when Fury didn't he had to go to work himself. Fury fought smart, moving backwards, making the most of his superior reach and height, so that Wlad had to make up that plus extra distance to get inside. But when Wlad got inside he held instead of punching because that's what he's done for a dozen years. I will give you that Wlad's illegal holding has saved him and given him an unfair advantage for several years. You could say that his dominance like Mayweather's has been largely a story of friendly judging and preferential treatment by referees, rather than just good technical boxing. I think the real story of this fight is that Wladimir doesn't know how to fight on the inside or close the gap and has spent most of his career capitalizing on other people's mistakes and his natural physical advantages.
Ironically, I think the pre-Manny Steward Wlad beats Fury, because he was more well rounded, didn't clinch all the time, and had a higher work rate.
Face it, Fury was extremely green and still had enough in the tank to take out p4p number 2, long time reigning, 10 year undefeated HW champ Klitty in his first world title fight. This is the same guy who punched himself in the face couple fights back. One would think Klitty would of KO'd him in the first couple of rounds.. But what did Fury have that Klitty's other opponents didn't? Height, reach, and a jab.. :rofl atsch That sound familiar?
Tyson Fury is in his 20's, Wlad is practically 40. ENOUGH said. Tyson Fury proved that he is MORE skilled than what people gave him credit for. Props to Fury.
It was also obvious in povetkin and pulev and even moreso in jennings fight. People think Fury is something special when in reality he just outpointed shot to **** wlad , I'd pick wilder to KO Fury.
Yeah, I'll go with that. Manny knew how to win and was one of the few cornermen who could help a fighter turn things around when a fight was going against them. Angelo Dundee, Eddie Futch, and Nacho Beristain could do that too. Most trainers just stand in the corner and yell stuff about firemen now. Bunch of dead weight.
Exactly, a green Fury outboxed and beat up the p4p number 2, long reigning, 10 year undefeated undisputed HW champ in his first world title fight.
He did but wlad from Haye fight would threw and landed right hands , fury is ok , but you'll see him lose soon
Why can't people see the difference between a fighter with a poor gameplan and one who is old and can't implement a good plan? We had to hear the same bull**** last week with Cotto, when there's not a ****in' thing wrong with either.
Wlad is too old to execute his game plan and Ir's not like he got old over night , he was declining for a past few years
