Why didn't AJ use klitschkos tactics?

AJ beat Povetkin using boxing and skills, and stopped him to top it off.
That's by definition more skill. Wlad should have been DQ'd against Pov.

It was a good and competitive fight that saved the show. I knew Povetkin would be tough for Joshua, since Joshua is still very inexperienced and learning and Povetkin was making him pay for every mistake. But, I have to give Joshua credit. After the the 4th round he adjusted and was able to keep Povetkin from getting inside and started tagging Povetkin with check hooks. It took Joshua a while to get the timing right on his check hook, but once he did I had a feeling Joshua was going to manage to sneak a power shot in their on Povetkin and unfortunately for Povetkin that was all it took.

That said I'd still like Joshua to get another 3-4 fights under his belt before fighting the winner of Wilder-Fury. Joshua's a fast learner and McCracken is a great coach, but I think a few more fights will help him polish up his jab and defense.

The bodybuilder Joshua's ready for Fury. He'd put the gypsy queen to sleep. It's the bronze bomber he has to worry about. Can't start that slow against such a devastating puncher. Please Deontay make the fight as soon as possible, lol!

Although i think Joshuas performance was a bit disappointing, he still did a lot better than Wlad, that **** should have been a DQ.

AJ came to actually box Povetkin, not turn in a (disgraceful) "DQ worthy" performance.

Retrospectively speaking, what should have been a decent event (WK vs. Pov) amounted to an absolutely awful night for the HW division. It was utterly abysmal.

younger Povetkin never rocked Wlad, or even landed anything meaningful on him

A PED infested fraud like Joshua couldn’t emulate a prime Wladimir. Ever ;)
