No one was paying to see Escobedo. They were paying to see Broner fight and KO some guy. I have no idea why they even bothered to negotiate with him so long. The sport is built on journeyman taking fights on short notice.:huh

For guys who keep themselves in tip top shape, and for what would be a good payday and a spot on an HBO main event card? I'm sure a lot of guys would take that fight.

Maybe that would work for the local fans but not for HBO.

It does not work like that. Even if he was fighting at the lowest of levels on a small show, it would be extremely hard to find a replacement, especially on the same day.

And for this we're talking about a fight that has been promoted between two guys by the Tv Broadcaster and Golden Boy. A replacement does not come into the picture at all.

Because Broner is not professional like Floyd. Broner is a punk ass ***** compared to Floyd.

Floyd - Blood Sweat and Tears. Hardwork and Dedication

Broner - I'm a maricon and i love twinkies and sneaker bar and my daddy is my ***** and he loves to comb my flea infested hair.

I meant yesterday when Escobedo's team was making demands.

1loss on your record and your career goes down the drain. If I'm a professional fighter I wouldn't take that chance.

Why is it only in boxing can 1 loss derail ones career. This is why we get Cherry picking fights instead of the best fighting the best. UFC has a good motto #1 fights #2 and so on, a loss there doesn't derail ones career. And it shouldn't if you are fighting at the top level losing is inevitable.

No world class oppenant would step in at 24 hours notice. Escobedo is ranked the second best at 130lb in USA according to boxrec, so that's the fight HBO want to show.

Why didn't Broner's team find a replacement??? You're kidding right? The question should be "Why didn't Escobedo's team find a replacement?" or "Why didn't Broner make weight?"

Broner is lucky he still has a fight tonight..... most fights get cancelled when one guy comes in 3 1/2 lbs over weight.
