he'd have played with him...it would have been calzaghes easiest nights work for years....looking at tarver - dawson...tarver would have been the perfect opponent for calzaghe...joe would rat-a-tat-tat him for 12 easy rounds and pick up another world title...
    but...money talks i suppose..

    Because Hopkins easily beat Tarver.

Why fight the loser of a fight when you can fight the winner AND Ring Magazine Champion?

Funny how many on here were claiming Tarver would beat Calzaghe after Calzaghe beat Hopkins

Now they're all claiming Dawson would beat Calzaghe

He clearly duked Tarver to fight the old man that owned him.

Lets face it, Joe wouldnt get credit for beating both Klit brothers on the same night from some people.

and now he is fighting the guy that Tarver schooled, so whats your point:huh

Honestly I dont know what that fight would have looked like...Keep in mind Tarver is a lefty and I dont recall Joe fighting many of those..Another thing that would have been tougher for JOe in that fight that many are over looking....Joe likes to get close, that is one of the most dangerous things you can do vs Tarver, if you watch the men that beat Tarver easy Hopkins and Dawson both made him walk to them. I think that Joe would win the fight here over the past 3 or 4 years but before that I would lean more towards Tarver.

Dawson is a different kind of beast, not to mention that he has nothing to do with Tarver or Hopkins :huh ....ABC my man ABCD:huh ....Fighter A(joe) wins a close very disputed fighter over fighter B (Hopkins) so that means that A would beat fighter C (Tarver) because B did:think ...So whats the point in Him fighting Jones since he lost to Tarver who lost to Hopkins who lost to Joe:good

Im still tring to figure out how fighter D (Dawson) fits into you math equation:hey Oh wait he beat Johnson who lost to Hopkins like 15 years ago no that aint it...What about he beat Tarver that Lost to Hopkins yeah thats it so it must mean that Joe would beat Dawson...Your RIGHT you got it...Damn Joe dont need to fight anyone cuz he already beat everyfighter ever because he beat Hopkins:roll:

I know you think you're clever with all your ABC crap, but my post was in fact an aeroplane!

That's right, it went right over your head! :nut

I was pointing out that Tarver was being touted as the one who could beat Calzaghe after Calzaghe beat Hopkins, now that Dawson has beaten Tarver, Dawson's now the man to beat everyone at LHW.

Carry on trying to assign algebraic values to my posts if it pleases you - simple things for simple minds I suppose :hey

Pointless fight and Calzaghe is 37 years old, he needs the biggest fights out there to make some money and Tarver coming off a loss isn't exactly a big fight.
