Why didn't Cortez take a point from Khan at the end of the 6th?

Exactly this. Khan may very well have won without the biased refering but would he have won with all the biased reffreing against him? At the end of the day this is a perfect example of 2 offences of equal calibre and one being punished more. I know big name fighters always have there nut huggers but let's be real Maidana barely threw that elbow and he only did it because Khan had spun him around, I would not of taken a point for it but it was intentional so if Cortez felt he had to fair enough. On the other hand if you are doing that you have to be just as strict when the other fighter does an offense which is at least as bad.

yeah then why did he warn Khan that he would stop the fight if he took any more punishment like he did in the 10th round?!

    quit making it up!

Cortez is bent, with that I agree, but forgive me if I need more evidence than that to believe he was unfair for the point deduction.

Secondly, I'm still waiting for the gif and the quote from Maidana confirming the headbutt in the 6th, because of all the things Miguel Diaz was angry about post fight, including Khan's holding, he doesn't seem to mention the headbutt:

I think you're butt-hurt that you got your prediction of Khan getting knocked out wrong.

Even the Nevada Judge's scorecards were harsh. The 113-112 was. The 114-111 was understandable.

HBO scored it 114-111, Jim Watt scored it 116-110, ESPN scored it 116-109.

Look back at the 27:25 mark of the video you posted on the first page. It doesn't matter if it was "barely" thrown. The fact is, it was thrown, and thrown with the intention of hitting Khan. You didn't see Maidana complaining, because he knew exactly what he had done wrong. It's no different to you and I as footballers challenging for the ball, you tug my shirt a little, and I respond by lashing out with a kick to your knee. Even if it misses, the referee is within his full right to send me off the pitch.

And I agree with you that when Khan nudged him with his head, Cortez could have done something. But like I've mentioned in an earliar post, it's not as bad the elbow.

I hate when people say ''Cortez should have stopped the fight in the 10th.'' Why? Cortez is a shite ref, but you stop a fight because the fighter cant finish and it is not safe for him to take further punishment. Well, evidently, Khan could continue, he got through the 11th and 12th and won the fight, therefore the fight shouldnt have been stopped.

Exactly! The bull**** that comes from the Hater's mouth's is rediculous. Khan was well aware of the punishment he was taking in the 10th!

He was laughing after taking the shots, nodding his head, putting his gloves up. His eyes were still there and his legs, uptil the last 10 seconds of the round.

He even said after on Ringside that it looked hell of a lot worse on tape but was 100% aware of what was going on.

I also dont understand where people are coming from with the ''he should have had a point deducted of all the running'' stuff. That's a rule in the amateurs, not the pros, and what do they want him to do? Stand still in front of Maidana and try to out-brawl him? Or maybe do some Sweet-Pea Whitaker like head-movement while hurt? It's ridiculous.

Don't get carried away. Maidana is a 28 pro fighter, if he threw that elbow with bad intentions, Cortez who is in his late 60's would be doubled over. You could see Maidana was pulling away from it. Both were cheeky but deliberate fouls, neither were horrendous but both were equal. Your making out as though it was some horror challenge.

It is as bad as the elbow, it is a foul and a least cortez could had warn Khan, and the holding that was going on he never said $hit, and he will pull maidana apart from Khan when he was on the inside ripping uppercuts, the guy is biased A$$hole.

The running doesn't deserve a point the holding does.

He did try to headbutt him, he threw his head at Maidanas that is clear, he didn't touch him but he try.
