Why Didn't Cotto Rematch Clottey?

cause Clottey got paid to NOT fight against Manny and disappeared

 

Clottey is bad for boxing? No seriously? Waste of part of Cotto's career regardless of whether the rematch was warranted?

 

same reason kirkland won't rematch molina, he got gift and his people know it.

 

Because 5 months after fighting Clottey he earned his biggest payday fighting Pacquiao. All his fights since have made sense too, Foreman = new weight / new belt. Mayorga = Most people felt was a prepare for Margarito fight. Margarito = 'Redemption', and now Mayweather. The only place Clottey would have fit in was the Mayorga fight, but that was what, 3-4 months after the Clottey Pac fight. There's just no place for it

Arum had a better plan, obviously. Clottey complained a lot after the fight and Arum promised him a good fight which he did get and failed miserably to deliver.

 

Every close fight doesn't warrant a rematch.

you can try pretend to be as light skin as you want but you'll never get there ashy boy.

 

Clottey really has no one to blame but himself for letting the fight get that close. He had a blind man in front of him for most of the fight and let Cotto off the hook. But that's always been his problem. Just not wiling to dig deep to win.

 

Clottey is annoying to watch and I'm glad he's inactive. Whenever he has someone hurt he doesn't keep firing, even when he had Corrales(RIP) hurt he never kept going for it. The man is almost as annoying as Dawson. He had Cotto hurt numerous times but didn't bite. The Pacquiao fight though, he just went in there without any plans to throw punches all night.

 

It's nice to see Clottey's punches when he actually throws them. Shame there wasn't no rematch
