Ward was the superior fighter, no doubt. He won clear. Yet why didn't Chad tried at least to make an effort? Dude had like 10 punch attemps in 1 round sometimes, why was he doing a Audley Harrison :!: Sure he was weight drained, but he was more mentaly drained than physicly. The Dawson that I know comes forward with furious attacks of 5-7 punch combination with power and speed. Today I was searching for single punches. One thing is clear, he should've never come down to sm., it's just not his weight. I doubt Ward would have done to Dawson what he did today at lh! Still I don't like Wards fighting style, athough I am impressed how could he is technicly and how he TKO'd a mentaly broken Dawson, with one of the baddest trainer around. I never heard one time the trainer say to keep his guard up, or to throw more combos, right hands counter when Ward comes in with Jab. What did his stupid trainer said:"do some body punches." atschstupid ass, the taller fighter should never make himself small and go to the body, he should stay outside and make consistantly attack with jabs, sometimes followed by right crosses and from time to time mix it up with uppercuts.
it's his ****ed up habbit. i predicted that his timidness would lead to his schooling session. Ward was gonna get off first all night long. and he did.
His jab was completely neutralized, and he was unprepared to open up offensive opportunities any other way. My guess is that he expected to be able to measure and time Ward as he came in with Chad's jab and straight punches with ease, and to bully him out from the inside during clinches.
Rember during the Mayweather/Ortiz Faceoff when Mayweather told Ortiz that it's diffrent inside the ring. I think it's the same with Ward.
:huh didn't dawson understand before the fight that ward was a clinch and inside the clinch fighing specialist? from outside, long jabs, crosses...or 1 / 2...there was nothing, just standing around and waiting to get tagged by Mr. Boring :think sorry but I have a hard time giving props to Ward, Dawson was just freaking doing nothing for like round 3-10. it was like wladimir klitschko on marihuna....atsch
ahhh come on, please stop. ward is a light puncher. dawson fought strong punchers like pascal or glen johnson, who just keeps coming. dawson took some hard shots and normaly he got chin. the knock down wasn't the problem, he didn't have shacky legs or anything. dude was just ****ign weight drained, on top he seems stupid and mentaly very light. simply not made for wars. strangly he was in wars and often won :huh say what you want, weight did play a mayor role. same if ward would have put on some weight and fought dawson at his favourite weight, it also have made a big difference, if not, than why didn't ward jump to lh?
Why didn't he punch? I think the more accurate question would be why couldn't he get out of the way of the jab. **** man he was hittable with everything tonight. The guy had no reflexes what so ever. He was clearly weight drained. I don't want to take anything away from Ward though he's a great fighter and desreves credit for this win. Dawson probably would have handled almost anyone else in the SMW division tonight. As for his punching Dawson hasn't light anyone up with combination since he was in his mid 20s. That fighter is long gone.
like I said, that dumb mo$%&ยง&%er just stood there, doing nothing but eating punches and his stupid ass trainer starts talking about going to the body today just all was wrong for dawson. the weight, his mind, his corner, just everything. I am 100 % convinced a energized LH Dawson, the version that fought Pascal II would have had made a competitive fight, even win.
that was the worst performance by a unified champion that I have seen in many many years. but, props to Ward. He destroyed Dawson.
he really doesn't have the mentality of a boxer and he was just probably a little too short to play basketball. He's doesn't handle speed well, and his mental game is weak - he doesn't know what to do when what he is doing doesn't work, and really lacks a killer instinct. He can't pick up the pace. I don't want to blame more than 10 percent of this ass whopping on the weight, the rest is 45 percent Ward being tricky, fast, hard to hit, and dirty as well as skilled and accurate and 45 percent Dawson being too stupid to raise his right hand to the side of his face to at least catch the leaping left hook once if he wasn't throwing with it. Terrible instincts.
yeah i know the weight ****ed him i want them to rematch at 175, but im sayin he was weight drained so he never recovered from the first knockdown u can cleary see, he won round 2 then he got hit with a good weak punch and went down, if that was at 175 he woulda took it
