Was this an attempt to save money? I heard Dan Rafael say on his podcast this is pretty unheard of not to send a live production crew on site to a fight of such magnitude and to simply have announcers call play by play in their US studio. Is DAZN in dire straits or something?
DAZN is a dumpster fire so it wouldn't shock me to think one of their execs thought it'd be swell to save some money anyway they could. The entire production was amateur hour. Four minute rounds, bad scorecards and a slippery ring that caused issues all night. For all the money they spent it was a shame none of it seemed to trickle into the actual event.
