Acelino Freitas was fairly dominant for a while after he beat Casamayor in 2002. A fight against Freitas or Casamayor would have been interesting but not box office.

Mayweather fought the number 2, 7 and 10 contenders on that list.

This BF starting to look like a "comic relief show" Floyd was head and shoulder above Acelino comparing both speaks loud about your boxing knowledge.

    A couple of reasons:

Mayweather was fighting on HBO, while Freitas was contracted to Showtime. Also, Freitas and Casamayor kind of took one another out of the mix by fighting to a lack-lustre decision. Neither fighter performed particularly well, and both failed to put themselves in a position where Floyd had to fight them.

Mayweather-Freitas would have been fun, but I suspect Floyd would have taken a clear decision in a hypothetical match-up.
