Floyd won in a fight he took all disadvantages against him. He really had no reason to rematch, there wasn't great demand, and they were never going to be able to negotiate a rematch. Floyd got what he wanted from De La Hoya and now has no reason to give De La Hoya everything he wants, and De La Hoya won't rematch Floyd unless he gets everything again. So, no fight. We're not losing anything by it not happening.

De La Hoya was dangerous at 154lbs and probably still could be, but if they fought again without all of those stipulations in De La Hoya's favour, it'd be a bad night for him. Also, after Pacquiao beat up the skeleton of De La Hoya at 147lbs, there'd be no credit left in that.

It would have been pointless. Nobody wanted to see it because, despite what the cards said, it was not a very competitive fight. Second, the fight was going to be at 147. (The ODLH that Pac fought.) Casual fans would have literally been turned off of boxing had that fight taken place.

I had Floyd winning the fight with Hoya. But, Floyd did not dominate like he usually does. It may have something to do with his decision to move on and avoid a rematch. Nobody can deny that he protects his "0". He's done it for some time now.

ODLH fought Forbes afterwards and looked like complete ****, Mayweather would've beat the hell out of Oscar in 08.

Floyd protects his 0 by winning, he gave Castillo a rematch, who IMO did way better than Oscar and actually has a legit gripe about scoring.

DLH was winning the fight against Floyd very easy while he was using his jab, then he stopped using it. As it could be seen in his preparatory fight against Forbe, it could be seen that DLH had corrected this mistake by using his jabs continuosly for 12 rounds and winning all of them. Floyd who had called out for a rematch (since he made so much money in the firsrt fight and wanted another big pay) Then date for the rematch was set but Floyd decided to back out from it, knowing that he won the first fight on a split decision and that DLH had shown a big improvement. Floyd avoided a potential defeat in his record.

    maybe so
Floyd is supposedly all about the money and he could have made a mountain of it in the rematch

who the hell wanted to see a remtach? the first fight wasnt all that great. mayweather as tentnative but it was because of dlh considerbale weight advantage. dlh was mayweather's biggest opponent ever. and dlh was throwing ridiculous flurries in sad attempt to score. dlh and mayweather are two fighters that can put you to sleep with the way they fight at times. you put them together, and its not a surprise it turned out dull. there as no demand for a rematch.

people who say "all dlh had to do was jab to beat mayweather" must know realize what was going on in the fight. if you notice. the man was being countred after a few rds. the difference and speed was apparent. further more, one of the main reasons the fight was close was mayweather's reluctance to let his hands go, and this was because dlh outweighed mayweather considerbaly.

Just because you did not want to see a rematch does not mean that
    nobody wanted.

you could have found a few suckers, maybe like yourself, who would pay to see another dull a affair with mayweather vs. dlh, but the MAJORITY, would not demand such a fight, which is why is was not made. if both parites believed a rematch would be in their best interest, common sense should tell you it would have happned, just like it happened the first time around

It was not made because your idol backed out from it.
