I always thought mayweather would beat mosley potshotting from the outisde untill the middle/later rounds before the domination would begin.
If he had been knocked out in round 2 it would have been the dumbest gameplan ever. It made no sense going inside with mosley in the opening rounds, even when he got stunned he didnt move or run or anything he just held on for dear life. Sure he got away with it in the end and now it seems like floyd was being brave by doing this, I want to know why he didnt choose to use his legs atleast for the first 3 rounds after that mosley was no threat anyway. It wasnt a good tactical move, way too risky.

The guys who beat Mosley before didn't ride bicycles from ring post to ring post.

Besides, Floyd's defense is good enough where he's confident of making people hit nothing even when he stands in front of them.

but when you LOOK at fighters like emmanuel, Amir, Cotto, and Martinez, you see them all over the damn ring. They still take greater punishment though.

they had different qualities, why give mosley the opportunity to land like he did, it was absolutely unnecessary for him to take the risk and bombs to the chin. Its that floyd being floyd allows him to get away with it and still easily win the fight but he could easily have moved for a few rounds before mosley gassed and still won the ud rather simple.

Floyd simply wanted to take the fight to Mosley, and he shut up a lot of critics in the process.

Good question. Floyd started the Mosley fight off incredibly slow. That's the slowest I ever seen him start.

He could have still done that while beating him by a wide ud, lets say floyd got knocked out in round 2 by those punches what would you have said then? that he was shot, wrong gameplan, lost his legs, lucky punch something like that? Floyd isnt gatti I respect him for his boxingskills alone, there was no need for whitaker to actbrave like that, only time when he needs to take the fight to his opponent is when he is down on the card, when you have the skills to avoid trouble just stay away from it.
The real question of course is, did he take the risk that payed out well, or was he forced to because he no longer can use his legs the way he want too?

Shane lost confidence after landing his most powerful shot that Floyd did not see but still wasn't even able to score a KD.

I for one was happy to see Floyd get rocked. In fact, I called it before the fight started (to friends that were over). I believed that it would happen and was even hoping for a knockdown, When Floyd got rocked, I was worried but I said, "This is it. This is what he needs."

I knew/know that Shane was a tough fighter and that he brought a lot of power. I wanted Shane to showcase his power to silence the haters, and I wanted Floyd to show toughness and maybe win a few more fans. I thought that it would be a bit tougher down the stretch, but Floyd stole his heart and will to fight.

Where does this Mosley's not a threat after such and such a round bit come from? He had just laid Mayorga out in the last few seconds of a fight, and bludgeoned Margarito to a TKO in the ninth in his previous two fights. Mayweather wasn't going to just wait until a few rounds like he's fighting a welterweight Briggs. He MADE Mosley useless after a few rounds. Mosley didn't just lose his power and gas. He was still throwing, he was just in against a genius. It's such horse**** to slag off Floyd's win like that.

Because Roger and Sr. probably watched the Winky - Mosley fights and tried to have Floyd adopt the same strategy.

If you ask me it wasn't a smart gameplan. If Shane wasn't so old and over the hill he would have gotten Floyd out of there. FLoyd would have done better against a younger Shane by boxing and staying on his bike. Look how bad Mora made Shane look just by giving a lot of movement.

That's bc Shane was/is damn near shot. You really think a young Shane would have let Floyd off the hook? Floyd walking forward into a prime Mosley like that would have been suicide. That was a dumbass strategy, and he's lucky he got Shane at the right time.
