    I can see that.

Yeah, Mosley was getting snapped back pretty roughly there. Mayweather did not look to be holding back and he didn't look like the weaker man at any time after getting rocked, that I remember thinking. I think the time off did help and I thought he was very impressive in the fight. I expected him to win by UD, but I didn't think he'd look as strong doing it.

You gotta admit Floyd does say that stuff a lot and then ends up winning by potshotting in a lot of his fights. In this fight he did do it though.

Floyd smiled and mocked him. It took Floyd about 11 seconds to get off the ropes after Shane caught him with that big AZZ bomb. Shane has been watching and studying Floyd long enough to know how smart Floyd is, he knew it be over if he couldn't finish him.

That was Mosley's only chance to catch Floyd like that. It went from punching to boxing after, and Shane isn't going to win that competition.

Floyd used his traditional shoulder roll in the opening rounds and he got caught with those two rights in round 2. He did see the shots coming and had a split second to brace but not enough time to move, shane threw a jab to the body and then the right upstairs and was able to catch him in a bad position, after that Floyd used the high guard the majority of the rest of the fight, that was Floyds plan B. He always has a variety of strategies to choose from. He could have done well using movement and backing up as you said but won going forward with a high guard which no one expected.

I think he wanted to show critics that he could do it and maybe because they thought Shane's corner wouldnt be expecting it or prepared for that strategy.

Sigh. Not really, Mayweather just went to higher gear and was like "ok no more ****ing around". Mosley couldn't compete anymore. That punch hurt Mayweather quite badly and shouldn't have had a negative effect on Mosley's confidence. At least give Mosley that, your boy dominated the rest of the fight. :-(

Maybe I'll take a look at it. I would like to be believe that he didn't for the most part give up after landing a great shot and not getting the KO. I think it was momentary frustration to not being able to finish him, the rest was just Floyd being better. But who knows, I'm not Shane.

Floyd knew Shane was expecting him to use his legs predominantly for defense and to create offense, like he normally does. So, he employed a different strategy. It was risky, obviously, but, it threw Shane off his game, as well. Shane was not in his prime, we all know that. But, it was a close physical fight, for the most part, so he did not have to expend energy chasing Floyd around the ring. He just could not box with Floyd, and Floyd now has the physicality to mix it up with these bigger guys. I doubt Floyd's lost his legs, as some suggest. He had just danced around for 12 rounds against JMM. It was good to see that dimension of Floyd, in the Shane fight. He is extremely versatile.

I do not believe Shane gives up at all. I think he is prone to getting frustrated and disheveled, and not ad******g. But guys with big power often unravel when they see it fail to get the job done when they land their best. Shane's temperament has always been a weakness against boxers and a strength against brawlers, it seems to me.

It would have been a tough fight if he was running from a guy like Shane. Even at 38, he's a very naturally athletic boxer with quick feet and hands and ****** power.

Mosely tried to land that same punch again more than a few times, but Mayweather neutralized it. Goes to show FMJ adaptability and Shane lack off the same.

He wasn't made to get on his bicycle. Shane was giving him time to think and use feints in the middle of the ring. That is PBF's fight, he only moves when you try to pressure and over tax his defense.

If you don't he will happily stand in front of you and make you miss then make you pay.

See Winky Wright's domination of Mosley.
