Floyd might have consider that there was no need to run from a 40 years old Mosley especially when random blood testing was performed.

I do not think this could happen in 2 rounds which was what Mosley really fought.

and that good point was seen by the pacman..i could easily
destroy him..those words were threatening. he has no legs
as viewed by the great trainor..it wasnt there anymore.
Things change and inactivity has its toll, he was really
    really great before.:hi:

He didn't lose confidence:lol:, he hasn't fought for over a year and wasted a lot of energy trying to finished mayweather.

A younger Mosley would have had Floyd out of there - thats a given , will he be sharp enough to catch Manny repeatedly with that same right hand is another matter.

come on now, no more ifs or buts. floyd won over that version of shane who was still dangerous but definitely no longer prime. floyd took those shots and won the remaining rounds clearly. the pac fight is an altogether different fight. let's stop with the shoulda woulda coulda's for now since the pac-floyd is far from being made at this point. there are already too many threads with redundunt posts anyway.

TRUE, look at the Carlos Hernandez fight. He fought in the pocket and then broke his hand and ran the rest of the fight

Why would you stand toe to toe with someone who almost knocked you out?

Mayweather is a lot wiser than that. He ran away from a light hitting, slow plodding fighter and stand toe to toe against a harder punching, old fighter?

4 years is a lot when a fighter is in the 30's and a lot more when you only fought 4 times after that.

    Roach might actually be right!

The reason Floyd was on the front foot was due to the fact that Mosley doesn't throw straight punches but looping punches, and has always done so. If he back peddled he would have create the distance necessary to generate power with Shane's looping punches. On the front foot, he was cutting that distance and smothering Shane.

Floyd is truly a student of the game. Just a shame he's getting abused non stop, I was a big fan of the guy from the genaro hernandez fight, but once he got into the higher weights he changed, wasn't the guy that wanted to fight everyone and has picked his opponents carefully.

Irrespective of the Pacquiao fight, 2008 could have been the true golden era of the welterweight division and he decided to retire. Now he could erase all that with the Pacquiao fight and yet he persists on making life difficult. He has ATG skills as we saw in the Mosley fight but a mediocre resume.

Exactly, I watched and studied the Marquez fight yesterday and before people throw out the bloated ****, Floyd didn't use his size in the fight til maybe the 11th round when he was going for the KO. Floyd beat him with speed and ring smarts and it was amazing seeing Floyd outsmart JMM like that. He's a smart fighter who fights only as hard as he needs to unless he's going for the knockout and I believe Manny will get TKOed in his fight with Floyd. Manny is going to get reckless and frustrated and he's going to make dumb mistakes and I know FLoyd is going to want to knock him out and Manny will give him plenty of opputunrities.

You believe Pacquiao is going to get knocked out by Floyd Mayweather, heh? Floyd couldn't even knockout or knockdown Marquez more than once, Pacquiao knocked him down 3 times in one round at 125lbs..

The scenario where Pacquiao just walks through Floyd's punches and stalks him around the ring for 12 rounds doesn't pop into your brain does it. Floyd has trouble with aggressive fighters that bring the fight to him, De la hoya brought the fight to him and so did Castillo that's why he struggled.

There's a reason why he thinks Pacquiao is on roids and there's a reason why he hasn't taken this fight yet. If it was so easy that he would knock Pacquiao out the fight would have been finished already.
