Why didn't Hatton just use Lee Beard instead of wasting Floyd Sr's time?

When your trainer turns up to training hours late, and has you sparring with an orthodox fighter and doing orthodox pads when you are fighting a southpaw it is hard to take your trainer seriously. It was Hatton's fault for not listening to Floyd Sr when he told him to defend, but it was Floyd Snr's fault that he was **** at training Hatton. It was a major **** up of a camp, but if he had had the best camp in the world he would still have lost.

He should never have abandoned Graham. I said this at the time. Graham was in it completely for Ricky and knew him better than anyone. I see why Ricky did it, but it was incredibly disloyal, incredibly. And the results were a total disaster. Manny would have beaten him no matter what, but having such a **** messed up camp and mixed messages, instead of what he could have had if he'd stayed with Billy, meant he was brutally embarrassed

I see your point mate, but as a Hatton fan I was deliberatley blinkered going into this fight. Floyd took everything out of Ricky imho. I can make excuses until the cows come home but the fact is Ricky is just short of Elite, and as I've said before, the majority of fighters would love to be that! Ricky has enjoyed a massive career and been loved by thousands / millions making him a very wealthy man, set for life. The fact is he is what he is Manny Vs Floyd is the next Super Duper fight (unless Marquez upsets the apple cart - which could happen) - Im moist with anticipation!

Lets hope for another British Super Star Soon - !!!!!! GO ON HAYE!!!!!!! Thanks for the Memories Ricky - Legend in my eyes!

I agree with you completely, BUT Billy lost it before Ricky, he couldn;t do a training camp - it wasn't fair on either of them

Beard is a **** trainer. Does not matter anyway. With Hatton's Glass Jaw he is finished.

Waste of time? Floyd got his money, that's all he should care about.

What part of my post is ignorant? Hatton should of just used Beard & saved himself the money for paying Mayweather since all he did was listen to Beard. Beard will never be a world class trainer. He should of carried Sr.'s bags & kept his mouth shut.

I agree Mayweather Sr. coulda handled the situation, but he was prolly so pissed off from having to listen to Beard, a guy that hasn't done anything, giving Hatton instructions. No wonder he didn't want to come to camp. Why hire him if you wanna listen to some assistant trainer who has done nothing, going behind Sr.'s back, being sneaky, acting like a woman.

Pac & Freddie are on a completely different level talent wise than Ricky & Floyd Sr and that's all there is to it. People can try and shift the blame, but it's obvious to anyone who is remotely objective about it.

    Waste Sr's time?

Sr probably got 5% of the purse. If anything I say Sr wasted Hatton's time.

Mayweather was the wrong fella for the job, totally the wrong fella for Hatton,he should have gone to Roach and I said so at the time. Mayweather may indeed be a good trainer but he was all wrong for Ricky. The way Mayweather works the pads is pathetic, its a game of patter cake patter cake,a fighter should hit the pad not the pads hit the the fighters hands. I along with many saw the signs in the Lazcano fight that the shine had gone off Ricky but we overlooked it.At the end of the day Manny was the better fighter on that night.
