Frazier paid his dues in the 1967-1971 period that he entirely cleaned out. Quarry, Bonavena, Ellis, Ali. Joe was a 1960s fighter fighting outside of his era basically chasing Ali for super fights in the 1970s. Nobody he did not fight in the 1970s were as good as guys he already beat. SHavers? Lyle? They both lost to Quarry.

Norton was a former sparring partner and Frazier used to beat him up but they were friends

Lyle lost badly to Quarry and IMO Frazier beats him

Young was not somebody someone fought unless they had to but a prime Frazier beats him

Frazier's name was so big after beating Ali that he could pick his spots

Wasn't there some sort of 6 man tournament to decide who would be champion when Ali was stripped and Frazier refused to enter, saying he would fight the winner, so they had to bring in some sub par sub to make the 6 up?

Liston was blackballed after losing to Ali in Maine. No major contender fought him from that time on. You cannot infer Frazier ducked Liston based on this.

No need. Frazier had his first WORLD title shot against Ellis in 1970, 3 years after Ali was stripped of the same title.

As far as I'm concerned New York world titles are as much use as toilet paper, then again perhaps toilet paper is more useful.

You seem a trifle premature and over- anxious here.:think
