Just a query about why this fight never happened. Up to that, apart from schmeling of course Joe was practically walking through the division . Then Farr came along and gave him quite a tough fight. While by no account was it a robbery, Farr did very well lasting full fifteen and never off his feet. Quite a achievement looking at Joe s record! But why did he not give him another shot? Godoy got one, as did conn and Walcott. Just curious..

he lost at least 3 in a row following that, not much of a case for a rematch.

Really? Not really checked Farr record so wasn't aware. I new he had lost a fair few in his last years but didn't realise he lost that many on the trot after Louis

Five months after losing to louis ,Farr lost to Braddock it was a close fight and Farr felt he should have gotten the verdict. Two months after that he lost to Max Baer,he took nine months off then fought Lou Nova whom he also lost to.A month after the Nova defeat Farr lost to Red Burman. So four losses in a row,[Farr never won a fight in the US],put him firmly out of the title picture.
Braddock and Baer were ko victims of Louis ,and Burman and Nova would be future ones.

Farr was managed by Tom Broadribb, a hard man and a former fighter himself,[Young SnowBall,] they were always at each others throats. Farr and Broadribb became estranged during his training for Louis which sure didn't help Tommy's preparation for the fight.Broadribb's daughter married two boxers in succession Don McCorkingdale and Freddie Mills both managed by Broadribb.

LOL, it is very likely Farr was a victim of bad judging and a referee call. vs Braddock. Bad judging and Farr not being American had a lot to do with it!

According to the Pittsburgh Press, amongst others, Farr won rounds 4 to 8 ( in a ten round fight giving him 5 rounds won ) and only lost round 3 because of a call by the referee!

    Some BS here.

One loss to anyone never stopped Louis giving a re-match.

Point out one single inaccuracy in my post.
I said the Braddock fight was close . Farr lost 4 consecutive fights in the US ,in fact he never won there, there was no demand for a rematch with Louis.

In this thread...Farr was managed by Tom Broadribb!

To quote yourself " Farr always maintained he beat Braddock and told my Father so"

This is my post not one inaccuracy in it.

"Five months after losing to louis ,Farr lost to Braddock it was a close fight and Farr felt he should have gotten the verdict. Two months after that he lost to Max Baer,he took nine months off then fought Lou Nova whom he also lost to.A month after the Nova defeat Farr lost to Red Burman. So four losses in a row,[Farr never won a fight in the US],put him firmly out of the title picture."

Maybe Farr deserved the verdct maybe he didn't I've never given an opinion either way, you're arguing against a non existant point, but then you cant read properly so no surprise there.
Let's just say you take every opportunity to tear down Johnson, Louis,Frazier, and Lewis,we all know why, it's not a secret . Do posters the courtesy of taking your hate and reserving it for your own biased, agenda driven threads.
