1. The sanctioning bodies have NEVER acknowledged belt holders of other sanctioning bodies as contenders in their rating system. Because they're not.. They're belt holders.. So yes it makes sense that WBC would not have Joshua in their rating system and certainly not as a mandatory. This is the way its always been. 2. Which rating system I view as being " more unbiased, honest and logical " is irrelevant when it comes to accusing a champion of ducking opponents or facing unranked opponents as he/she does not dictate the rules of the governing body they represent.
Which champion did I accuse of ducking opponents , or of facing unranked opponents? Does it make sense to have; Charr at 2 Bryan at 4 Helenius at 9 Rivas at 4 Fa at 6 Kabayel at4 Washington at 9 Romanov at 6 Zhiang at 9 ????????? Which ratings are the most credible; The WBC's, WBO's, IBF's,WBA's ? Or The Rings? Come on ,get off the fence ,you'll get splinters!
Wilder has not fought 3.Ruiz 4..Joshua 5.Whyte 7.Povetkin 8. Parker 9. Kownacki 10.Pulev Joshua has fought 3. Ruiz 5.Whyte 7.Povetkin Parker Yes I believe Wilder, or at least his team have ducked contenders. Wilder has fought the following out of the Rings current top ten. Ortiz x2 Fury In contrast Joshua has fought Ruiz x2 Whyte Povetkin Parker In ten defences over 5 years Wilder has made 3 against ranked opponents. he has had 43 fights. In under 4 years and Joshua has made 5 defences against ranked opponents in 7 defences , he had had 24 fights . you still haven't answered my twice asked question whose ratings are the more credible? I guess you won't.
Dillian Whyte was not a world title fight. And while he’s improved over the years and is NOW a legit contender, his resume had nothing when Anthony fought him in 2015. Povetkin and Wilder signed to fight each other years before He and Joshua met but the fight was canceled due to Povetkin‘a failing a drug test - a point I’ve made a few times already. And the hindsight view of Ruiz beating Joshua has been mistaken for him originally being seen as an elite contender. He fought on even terms with Parker in a controversial loss then took over a year off from the ring. He returned to beat a handful of has beens before showing up at a portly 264 lbs to fight and beat Joshua. I don’t think Eddie Hearn selected him with the thought of building a legacy In mind. Wilder fought the dangerous Luis Ortiz and Tyson Fury in the same calendar year.... Now to answer your question. There are times when magazine ratings contain fighters in its top ten that I would PREFER to see challenge for a title rather than a lot of what the sanctioning bodies offer. But you can’t make the generalization that a champion is avoiding ranked opponents based on standards that we’d “prefer” to see in place. If he’s fighting a man ranked by his sanctioning body then he’s doing what he has to do... also as mentioned wilder has signed to fight people who were highly ranked by ring and the fights were called off due to no fault of his own..
The only guy that comes to mind that Wilder signed to fight who was ranked and the fight fell through was Povetkin that's one in10 defences! Ruiz was top ten when AJ fought him and your diversion about Wilder fighting non ranked opponents because the original one fell out won't wash, because he fought a whole raft of unranked men intentionally. Who ranked Arreola,Duhaupas, Stiverne2,Washington, Szpilka? Wilder defended against Breazeale in his 41st fight. Joshua had beaten Breazeale up in his 18th fight! I think you have a very selective interpretation of things where Deontay Wilder is concerned.
Again you’re interpretation of ranked vs unranked is solely dictated by Ring magazine annual rankings... It also doesn’t take into account the circumstances of why some of these matches were made..... BTW Arreola and Stiverne 2 were last minute replacements.
One was a replacement for Povetkin and the other a replacement for Ortiz. Ortiz and wilder fought months later once he was clean. Dillian whyte’s best win was over Brian Minto when Joshua beat him and again this wasn’t a world title fight. You once asked me why wilder fought Brazeale after Joshua beat him. Hopefully you realize Joshua did the same thing by fighting Eric Molina after Wilder poleaxed him. Just think... next month we have two of the best heavys in the world fighting in Tyson Fury vs Deontay Wilder.. who is Joshua’s next fight ? Kubrat Pulev. And why ? Because the IBF has him as their #1
Kubrat is top ten with the Ring and bailed from a title shot with Joshua when he was top 5. Joshua has three belts to Wilders 1, yet he still manages to regularly defend against top ten ranked guys.
most of those belts he won vacantly against a 41 year old 17 month retired Klitschko who almost beat him. Then defended against Carlos Takem. Do you think Pukev’s rating or claim to a title shot is warranted ?
Takam was a substitute, I think Pulev will be cake for Joshua, but he is a mandatory and he is top ten ranked by the ring Joshua has tried to retain all his belts and keep each organization happy.Wilder has only one belt and quite frankly ,Fury should be wearing.ps Wlad was better than anyone bar Fury that Wilder has fought and Wilder lost that fight,he just got the decision! In a total of 24 fights Joshua has fought; Molina Breazeale Takam Parker Ruiz x2 Whyte Martin Klitchko I think that resume shits all over Wilder's and he has had nearly twice as many fights!
aaahhhh... Takem was a substitute and Pulev is a MANDATORY !!! Guess what’s good for the goose is good for the gander eh ? BTW, wilder didn’t get the decision. It was a draw and a very close fight whichever way you wanna call it.. kinda beats getting KTFO by Ruiz
