I'm not entirely convinced Marquez loses to Provo like some people seem to think. Not to say Alvarado is the harder fight, but I think it's the smarter fight if Marquez' goal is to be ready for a rematch with either Pac or Bradley. Honestly, his style matches up really well with Provo. He eats pressure fighters up. Age is definitely an issue here, but Marquez is pretty preserved outside the Pac fights. He's lost a step, but he also boxes really, really intelligently.

I think that leaving the Provo fight out of the equation was the smart thing to do. I think he amasses less wear and tear, stays fresh for the focus of his campaign, and still gets a good win under his belt.

Then again, Alvarado can always surprise us.

Probably scared to get knocked out. Marquez has been down like 30 times in his career. Maybe at his old age if he goes down from a shot by this beast he won't get back up for the count.

    :deal

Team Marquez feels threatened by Pacquiao because Marquez was getting busted up in the 4th fight and was losing on the cards.

    Pacquiao-Marquez 5

    - VADA testing, strict testing will be demanded by Team Pacquiao.
    - Marquez will be 41 YEARS OLD, He will get KO'd.

Would you want to fight Provo at his age, for a belt in a division you've already had, and for limited money? I can't fault a 40yo JMM for exclusively seeking a WW belt before he retires. It's the only reason he's still in the game. Call it a duck, but he's got great reasons for it.
