Clinching is illegal in boxing. 96 clinches in fight is worth of getting DQ. Why ref didn't just DQ him?

Wlad and Floyd are the 2 people who can't ever be DQ'd for clinching and they know it, that's why clinching is part of their game plan. They'd need to bite off opponents ear or headbutt the ref to get DQ'd. Even then you'd see threads like "Horrible decision by the ref tonight!!!!!!!!!11"

Hopkins clinching is part of the game.

Not only that a lot of headlocks and stuff.. sometimes it happens in boxing but that's why it's called 2 point martial art.

Because he didn't clinched as much anymore after the point being taken away. Then if he did, there's first a second point to take away and after that disqualification can follow... bet ya every fighter -unless you're Golota- changes his style at the 2nd point taken away.

Guess you think Ali should have been DQ'd in half his fights past 30...

Yes he clinched a lot but I don't think it was enough to warrant a disqualification, he clinched twice as much in the Povetkin fight, this for Wlad was a pretty clean fight. The point deduction should have happened earlier though as the ref warned him a lot of times in each round before finally making the deduction.

It was nice to see a ref warn Wlad for his holding and pushing as often as he did but he really should have made it more clear that Wlad was close to a deduction earlier to minimise this tactic.

I doubt we'll see this ref ever referee another Wlad fight. Jay Nady was the last ref to really warn Wlad for his illegal tactics when he fought Williamson and Nady has never refereed another Wlad fight since.

First off Clinching is legal and its part of boxing. Second Why didn`t ref DQ Jennings? He cause most of the clinches, he rabbit punch, a lot of his punches was in kidney area, which is illegal, he hit after break, why the f**** referee not DQ him ?
