Why didn't Tyson just make a proper come back instead of whoring himself out?

Especially the Corey Sanders fights were very painful to watch.

And with proper comeback I mean hook up with Kevin Rooney and the rest of the old staff again

If you massively ****ed over a bunch of good, solid, dependable, professional people to leave and take up with a bunch of con artists, murderer's, thieves and downright *******s who ****ed your career up even worse than you'd managed to do by yourself, and then after being made a fool of by these scummy people would YOU come crawling back to your old mates who you had so ROYALLY ****ed over??

    I'm not so sure..

I think the knee injury he sustained early in the Williams fight, took away any dedication and focus that he had left. Shame, he was looking damn good in pounding Williams up to the injury.

Also, Don King probably threatened to have Mike's kids killed if he ever went back to Rooney.

    Seriously.

Like most bullies he folds like a lawn chair once the other guy takes his best shot and keeps coming forward. Anyway tyson was mostly a myth, guys lost the fight before even the 1st round. Like spinks who was mentally defeated by the time he walked in. He wasn't even K.O'd, he quit.

It was obvious that he wanted none of boxing for a long time. He didn't even want to return to boxing ever since he came out of prison but was forced to for the money.

I thought there was a stupidity ban? :huh

    Anyways as for the TS:

Tyson wanted nothing to do with boxing for a very long time. That much has been made clear.

He just didn't have it anymore. He needed perfect timing to beat all these bigger men and it was not there after prison. He started following people around the ring and loading up on punches instead of cutting off the ring and dazzling people with technique and combination punching. He could still get the job done most of the time with average professionals but he would never beat a great fighter.

He wasn't willing to put the time and effort into becoming the same fighter he once was. He was already on the down-slide going into prison. If prison could have served for that breather, maybe, but, Prison changed him. And he wanted money fast. And, he didn't always make the best choices.

being the force he was in the 80's took tons of work and focus which he wouldn't have had if it weren't for his team. without his team and after prison he only had a desire to get or keep a certain lifestyle. throw in manic depression and bad decisions and you get tysons' career from 95-2005: enough raw talent to ko most of the fringe (and lower) guys he faced but never enough discipline to sustain any type of high level success
