Why didn't Vitali rematch Byrd?

    I think so too, Byrd was very competetive in the second half of the fight, he was ad******g well to Vitali and gave him fits. With a longer training camp Byrd could probably have made it even harder for Vitali, i'm not saying that Vitali couldn't have beaten Byrd in a rematch, but it would have required some hard work from Vitali's side, plus he could be forced to dig deep, and i don't think that Vitali likes to be taken into that neighborhood

    Vitali was out for a while after that fight.

    Still though, when he did return he knew he could beat Byrd handily.. even though Wlad beat him you'd think he would try and revenge the official 'L'.

    You don't really think that one boxer just comes up to the other and say "hey, let's fight" and then the arena full of people magically appears, TV trucks roll in and they broadcast it as breaking news? Promoters make fights and they tell fighters where and when to show up and what to say.
