Because Quintana was slipping his punches, and throwing and missing affects your conditioning and capacity to throw more.
Exacly and i would like to had that Quintana's movement in the ring gave trouble to Williams because he was rarely at the proper range, unlike in the Margarito fight.
I just think he had a really bad night, vs a good fighter...who happened to fight a great fight. I think if they fought ten times, Williams wins 8...listen to all of the announcers (who were actually pretty good last night...surprisingly) talk about Quintana fighting a near perfect fight, and the fight STILL being close. Williams throughout what Ive seen of his career, ALWAYS listened to his corner. You would hear him take direction and go and do it in the ring during the next round.....last night....he COMPLETELY ignored his corner. He also looked much slower than usual. I think he took Quintana lightly...overlooked him severely...and payed for it with his belt.
I personally think he is a joke. He's a super middleweight fighting at 147 with slightly limited success. He weighed 164 pounds last night... 164 pounds!!! That's outrageous. 17 pounds of water weight? Give me a break.
*Paul Williams i mean... Quintana is a perfect welterweight both by dimensions and skill set... (just in case lol)
quintana's footwork and slickness. williams needed to get his feet set to throw his normal volume of punches and quintana wouldnt let him. also williams footwork and sense of distance is horrible
He was not able to throw many punches becuase he was constantly chasing El Indio, he was throwing his jab, and he was geting countered the entire night, as he came forward El Indio was snapping his jab also, keeping off balance and for him was very difficult to throw any punches that way, the only time he was abloe to connect with conviction was when he was able to set El Indio when El Indio became static.... El Indio kept moving side to side, snapping his own jab, maintaining a counter distance the entire night and giving PW angles, and fades that keep him guessing...it was a beautiful master clinic on counter boxing..in similar fashion El Radar did with Kid Pambele
although Benitez was such a natural he made it look soo easy whereas quintana is good but nowhere near Benitez level
Because Quintana Was Slipping & Moving, Unlike A Magarito Who Was Right In Front Of Williams The Whole Fight. Quintanas Slickness Dictaded The Fight.
