Why didn't Williams tighten up his defense against that left hand?

furthermore, the issue with PW's defense is distance control...again...Quintana exposed PW's inhabiliy his inhability to control distance...Sergio was at the right distance to have that Flying left cross- hit the mark unaccounted for....and booom...out went the lights...:bbb

 

I have been saying it all along. PW is extremely limited by himself because he has the tools to be great but he doesnt use them. How in the hell does a guy that has an 82" wingspan not start everything with a jab!?
I saw his chin had cracked in the first fight and this guys career is definately peaked. Now he has nothing to offer and will get brutally beaten by anyone at 154 or 160. He is gonna have to run to 147 which i doubt he can make. I mean he weighed in at 168 on fight night so i think its bull**** him saying he can make 147 again.

yeap, exactly my thoughts. He was custom made for those timing east-european fighters ala Kostya Tszu (say, Pirog, Govetkin) and not for eerky jeerky type of figthers ala Martinez. seems that even those fighters adjust better than williams...

 

Martinez made him fight his kind of fight and baited him with that left hand since the last fight.

Martinez had his head out past his feet, his face pointed directly at the floor, and his eyes closed when he landed the KO punch! He wasn't "aiming" ****, but PDub's defense is so porous aiming isn't important!
