Something that occurred to me the other day: A lot of Ward fans are the type of people who call themselves 'pure boxing fans' and such, and will say people that don't like watching his style 'DKSAB' - however they seem to fall hook line and sinker for the old 'A beat B, B beat C, therefore A beats C, no need to fight'. I know Ward's having promotional issues etc., but he spends more time talking about why other fighters won't fight him, rather than who he wants to fight. In my opinion, George Groves vs. Ward should happen down the line if Groves can rebuild and get some good results, and this fight is far from a gimme for Ward. I don't think Ward has faced someone who is as explosive, hits as hard, is as fast (maybe even faster - Ward's speed overrated imo) as him, and who he would struggle to dictate the pace against. Yet, Ward fans will happily say Ward's cleaned out the division and there's no need to fight Groves because Froch just beat him twice? The fight would be entirely different - can Ward TKO or KO Groves? Probably not, and he's not got the game to absorb the punishment Froch did and still break him down (in the first fight) or have the 1 punch power to lay him out like in the second fight. Also, they use the same excuse for why Ward should never have fought Bute. Froch dismantled him. But the fight would have been entirely different - Ward would never walk through Bute the way Froch did, or bust him up the same way. My point is this, with two what could be/could have been great fights, he would have to have found his own way to win. Instead, him and his fans sit and use a fighter like Froch as their barometer as to who they think he should and shouldn't fight. As if anyone that can't beat a guy Ward beat isn't worthy of a fight with him. Like I say, I know he's not fighting at the moment, but this stance on his resume seems like total hypocrisy to me...
