Vo2, lactic Threshold conditioning has been around in some form for years. Anybody with an ounce of sense interpritated it. Yes there wasnt the science, it was more Hands on, an awareness of the guys the coach was working with and an understanding of movement made under stress. Ive met guys with Phd coming out of there Arses who havent a clue, plus it seems to me most ideas that come out of science l;abs are brought there by outsiders in the 1st place. I remember a man who did know what He was talking about, saying to me scrap theyve discovered new muscles. Gave Him a funny look, His reply Yes they call them Cor muscles, theyve found a new word not a new muscle, they will make more money presented that way He said.:D it made me laugth. Having said that, anything that is proven to work use it, every advantage counts most old wifes tales have a semblance of truth in them, most new ideas are the ones that have been forgotten :good

If you push any cardio out of your comfort zone it becomes mentally challenging. Why people think this is unique to running I don't know.

If you want a mental challenge... Find your squat 10 rep max and do 1 set of 20 reps with that weight.

If all you do is jog slowly it doesn't do much good. But if you mix it up a little, do some other exercises as well, a few sprints at the end, some shadowboxing, carioca's, etc, a run can be a nice workout. Not too taxing, bar the sprints, but not every workout should be full intensity. I like a relaxing swim every now and then, or cycling. Neither is sports specific, and it may not cross over, but it keeps me active on a day that I perhaps can't spend in the boxing gym, and it makes me feel all athlete-like and fuzzy.

    **** your science ;)

The future of training is intensive ball room dancing.

No they do, once a week or whenever you think you need a recovery run to flush the lactic acid out. As I mentioned before they also help your recovery time between more intensive work, they'll help your recovery between rounds in sparring. It also depends on when you are in your training plan, if you are in your off season and well out of shape you could do a few long distance runs a week to build up an aerobic base without putting too much stress on your body.

He's amazing. The guy has an answer for everything and if he doesn't he just makes one up, states it as fact and argues it to the point of no return...

Gotta be a troll, same with VIP.
