Closed-minded twits that mistakenly believe that the 2 sports are opposed. And anyone who says it is boring, well boxing can be excruciatingly boring at times if we're being honest.
How far back does boxing go? When people say MMA is a young sport they mean as a mainstream sport. They are not talking about the roots.
so you think shooting for a takedown doesnt involve skill? you hide your take downs else you get kneed to the face. and defending a takedown is what? you can get submitted even if youre on top. or even take more punishment. i think if you have to complain, grappling is the one area i dont like.
There are fighters who are champions in UFC, that more likely than not wouldn't last in an international MMA tournament. I never said it wasn't skilled. I said UFC is probably the least skilled and most watered down version of MMA in history. WHich it is. To say that mMA doesn't require any skill would be asinine.
I find the groundwork boring to watch, and fights often consist of a lot of groundwork. I don't hate MMA, I just don't watch it.
I told this girl that MMA was a young sport, meaning as a mainstream sport and she said, "No it's not! It's been around since the '90's" (as if that's really old).
I don't hate it i just don't like it. The thing is that I don't really enjoy watching it since alot of the times I've seen a fight there's two guys lying on the floor tring to hug eachother to death. But there's some good fights but there the ones when they are standing.
It can be boring but also I think a lot of boxing fans deep down worry that it's considered more manly and brutal than boxing.
I doubt it. Boxing has been featured in works as old as the Iliad. It happened during the funeral games for Patroclus.
Gotta disagree on the "more manly" part... lol Dudes are pretty much dry humping like 60% of the time & the tights.
