Lennox? Big ups. He is one of the best to EVER do it at HW. Perfect combo of brains, speed, fundamentals, and punching power. Wish he woudl have been a bit more defensively responsible, but hey he is a HW we want fireworks!

Naseem? Supremely talented, but disappeared after facing diversity. I hear his hands were fragile and in constant pain, but that is the same issue FMJ and Calzaghe had. They adjusted and became greats. He just disappeared.

Calzaghe? Very talented, but where was he when all these HOFers were banging it out? I won't go to America? Come on. So even though his talent was there, he doesn't get the respect his talent may or may not deserve.

Hatton? I think the hype train got going on him too fast and his skills could never catch up to the expectations. Still, he has nothing to be ashamed of. I have called him a "bum" before, but honestly the man had a solid career.

I wish you guys could send Eubanks over and give FMJ a class on how to play the heel though! :good

My point in comparing SSM and Hatton was the fact for hatton he suddenly became a bum after losing to p4p number 1 and 2 boxers, SSM now lost to p4p number 1 so if same logic applies then SSM will become a bum. I personally dont think either are bums and IMO thats the difference with a lot of americans and brits, we dont drop our fighters to bum or overhyped level after they lose. Before calzaghe, lacy had a massive following, where are they now?. Hatton still has his large following and even naseem. We generally support our fighters through thick and think not just when they are winning.

Yeah, i'm British and at this moment in time I think Khan needs to still earn respect. He's got the skills but nothing yet has shown me he can walk the walk.

Froch is another example, when Pavlik came back from being put down to stop Taylor he got massive massive praise, when Froch did it he barely got a nod. He even traveled to america to defend his own belt in his oppositions backyard. Name me many americans that have come to UK to defend their belt?

Oh yeah, I forgot that the 'average American sports fan' knows almost nothing about the two biggest team sports in the world, football and cricket, but prefers to watch netball and rounders:yep

No wonder they think Hatton only had two fights:yep

You're right about the footie part, but cricket as the no 2 team sport in the world?Whereas several countries love it-Australia,India,South Africa, for example-there are many more that have little or no tradition of it-Russia,China,Brazil,Italy,France,Germany and so on.P.S.I remember very well when light punching Collazo had Hatton REELING at the end of that one.

You made your own point about Taylor. He had already been knocked out by Pavlik and he drew with Cory Spinks,WTF???He was already damaged goods.Even the Hopkins he fought was over 40,and neither looked very good.I am still dismayed that he was even invited to the Super 6.Someone in this website brought up a very compelling argument for his being invited as cannon fodder for guys like Abraham, because Sauerland was one of the promoters.Neither you nor I will ever know the truth about that, but It's something to ponder. But considering his performances even before the Froch fight,it was obvious that Jermaine was good, but nothing special.

First off,Mosley is 38 and has shown a lot of wear and tear for some years now.And remember,he moved up 3 divisions to take on highly respected Winky Wright. That would be like Hatton moving up to middleweight, haha. What is Hatton now,30?And if they were to fight later in the year, just who do you think would win between Shane and Hatton? And by the way,Lacy was not well known in the States. He was a product of the US media, hyped up for the fight.I consider myself somewhat knowledgeable about boxing, but I(as well as many of my friends that are boxing fans) had never heard of Lacy before the Calzaghe fight and only paid attention to it because I used to like Calzaghe. And considering his pre-Calzaghe fight accomplishments,it's pretty obvious that his accomplishments were nothing special, either.Realistically and honestly, just what "great" victory did Lacy have throughtout his whole career?

I have to correct myself here.He beat Cory Spinks at middleweight on a split decision and drew at middleweight with Winky.Again, not that impressive.
