Why do British prospects move so slowly?

    I not understand how British prospect that people rave about move so slowly and fight Argentina taxi men.

    Over here I see fighter like Kosei Tanaka, Naoya Inoue, Takuma Inoue, Kazuto Ioka, Ryo Matsumoto, Ryota Murata and Ken Shiro all move very fast through rank.

    I know some fan think it only because they in low division. Maybe that why. But why not British men in same division do same? Like Kal Yafai take ages, Paul Butler tried and come up short against Tete but he never fight other guys Super Flyweight first.

    Just I don't understand.

    Yafai's been moved quickly? Kal's had 14 fights and been a pro almost 3 years, and he's only just stepping up to face a world ranked foe. In comparison Tanaka's had 4 fights and is fighting for a world title whilst Inoue's had 8 fights and is a 2 weight world champion.

    The truth is, British fans will put up with it. And British promoters are shrewd at getting their fighters ranked + title shots off the back of 35 or 40 wins over mostly poor opponents.
    British fans have been conditioned to watch mismatches.

    Personally I don't think it's a bad idea to fight 40 times or more before a world title, but they should be competitive fights, not mismatches.

    These days Japanese fighters are better.

    I'd imagine the Japanese public don't write off their boxers following their first loss.

    *most* Brits are moved along at snail pace because they are sh*t and will be exposed as soon as they step up. Promoters have to milk the gullible british fans while they can.

    Of course there are exceptions, the likes of Amir Khan, Anthony Joshua, Eubank jr etc

    This is true.
    It's been a British tradition for years now.
    Terry Lawless and Mickey Duff were masters of it in the 1980s.
    But Frank Warran was even better.
    I still remember what he did with George Collins !

    It's probably because of the fans as someone else said, also promoters don't want to risk losing money, they want to milk all they can from a fighter so they'll match him up easy for as long as possible.

    Butler moved slowly??? British, commonwealth and IBF world bantemweight champion all under 18 fights! Moved too quickly IMO

    Butler have twice as many fights as Inoue. Not that fast.

    Not saying he hasn't am just saying compared to every other Brit fighter out there butler was moved in the quickest so your first comment about him is false.

    My comment about Butler was he tried and come up short. He never fight other world class fighter before fighting Tete, unless you think Hall really world class. He went from fighting domestic level fighter to world class in one move due to fight too many useless import fighter

    Inoue beat a 40 year old who was getting judges decisions in his last 3 or 4 fights. Butler would have blasted him out aswell. Inoue is very good but he would not beat tete either.
