Why do cheaters get a NC afterwards and not a DQ loss?

It should be a NC.

I win and a loss are only achievable within the 12 rounds of a fight, anything that happens outside of that, should nullify the result like it never happened.

Think of it like this. If a fighter beats the living **** out of an opponent and stops him early and then gets caught with weed in their system, who would be fooled by giving a DQ win to the opponent? A win should only be achieved in the ring. Its best to change it to a NC and discount the whole thing.

 

I know this opens the floodgates, but I would assume the organizations would have a list of actual PEDs. Yes, I'm sure marijuana may help you in some way, but I think the OP means cocaine/steroids/**** like that.

It's a tricky one. because there's some circumstances when giving the W to a clearly inferior fighter would be ridiculous. OTOH I'm firmly in favour of severe punishments for those caught cheating, and the risk of an L could be quite a disincentive.

I'd suggest it should be the preferred option from a range of punishments to be handed out by the relevant governing body, although this leaves open the possibility of corruption within the decisions process.

An ideal world might allow the injured party the option of a mandatory rematch (when the cheater had served out any suspension) in order to try to prove they would have won on a level playing field, but financial considerations would likely make this unworkable.

Probably because any rules remotely concerning a problem after the fact were simply dealt with by ruling NC at one time, and that passed down the line to deal with anything remotely concerning a problem after the fact. By the time PED use came along maybe no one bothered to change the rules. Things don't change unless people complain, let Floyd be the victim of a NC to a cheater...we'd have change real quick.

They should not only receive a DQ loss for doping/PED use but be banned from participating in the sport of boxing for at least five years!!

If the fighter's trainer is found to be part of the conspiracy, they should receive a lifetime ban!!

All this "I did not know what it was/that it was banned/my trainer mixed my drinks/a mate spiked me" (etc) bs should not be considered as a defense!! What goes into a fighter's body is their responsibility, no-one else's!!

Only with a Zero Tolerance Policy will the (suspected) widespread use of PED's in sport of boxing be addressed.

 

Should be banned from the sport and their record thrown out. If they did this there would be less juicing as the consequences would be greater.

Weed and **** like that shouldn't ever be sitting next to any type of ped list.
There aren't any real recreational drugs that should ever be the same punishment as ped testing failures
