This guy is USELESS. He is supposed to be on top of the sport and breaking news to boxing fans.

All this fat motherf*cker does is state the obvious, and repeatedly recycles stupid memes..i.e. "out of the cage", "CJ Ross" and other dumb stuff.

It's his job to get info that you and I don't know...not give updates about shower pressure and sh*t. Literally any one of us could do his job... he adds nothing. Says he got info about Floyd/ Pac but can't say what it is or who it was because Dan has a rep as a tight lipped guy...WTF? You're a reporter dumba$$... DO YOUR JOB...and while you're at it...do a g0ddamn situp or 2.

he sucks and has sucked for a long long time. It's shocking that he maintains his job. Kerian Mulvaney does a much better job for espn.

Dan some of the best reporting in the business. I have no qualms with him. For instance today he explained that Gary Shaw and K2 promotions agreed to a deal of Bryant Jennings vs Wladimir Klitschko but now that Gary Shaw has sold his stable of fighters to Roc Nation Sports they are trying to alter the deal and the fight could fall through because of it. I would not have known that without Dan Rafael.
It's a shame too, it's a good fight and RNS should honor the agreed upon contract.

I doubt they pay him very much.

He does get some news because he acts like more of a publicist than a journalist, so he'll have a connection with the top people in the sport.

When it comes to his opinions, and how he comports himself as a representative of ESPN, he leaves a lot to be desired.

    Twitter is inherently unprofessional.
Dan has a pulpit and he utilizes it. He is good for the sport. Tonight he is at RNS first fight card hopefully he can unearth some answers as to why the negotiations have stalled between Jennings and Wlad. They shouldn't mess around with someone who is on the verge of earning his highest career payday. Also he can find out when Ward will return now.

yea I know twitter is not a ground to expect pro style journalism but if you want to be regarded as good writer in any subject you gotta have your views backed up with facts and present them in a way that is clear and professional

spamming 20 tweets calling floyd a coward pac this pac that was just stupid and made him look a tw@t

Whenever I look for what's new in boxing I stopped reading Fat Dan's junk a long time ago. And TBH, it's rare you even see him on ESPN even when they are discussing boxing. You'll see Teddy Atlas way more than you'll ever see Fat Dan. Even when they talk boxing on 1st Take they bring in Teddy. It's like Dan doesn't even exist.

Teddy and Dan have two different roles. Teddy gives insight and play by play. Dan is a reporter there to break news, and give context.
