If you search “Who had the best reflexes” in boxing forum, most of the answers are usually Roy. But most of them don’t really give a explanation, and so, what do you think is the reason?
Your thread title says everyone, while your OP says most… why? Because he had great reflexes. For a man his size I am not sure that he doesn’t have the quickest reflexes. He is certainly in the conversation of quickest reflexes in a P4P sense…if you can’t see that from the film…I’m not sure there is much else to add?
Because his fundamentals were not the best, but he could win just on his reflexes like when he put his hands behind his back to show off. Now, I do think he avoided tough guys at times and didn't have the level of a Leonard, Hearns, Duran or Hagler to showcase, and in that case showing off might not have been possible in the hands behind the back example, but for what he had his reflexes were exceptional. Probably one of the best ever.
What explanation is needed when you can simply watch him. There's no overwhelming subtlety to great reflexes.
