Shane admitted taking Steroids but yet alot of fans still consider him a legend and ignore it, however the likes of Peterson and Berto get trashed by alot fans. Why is this the case ?

if we stopped giving credit to every fighter that made mistakes, there'd be barely any ATG's.

I don't think he is given a pass, I just think people have chosen not to focus on it as much as the years have passed by. Peterson and Berto are getting trashed because they recently tested positive. In a few years people aren't going to be focusing on it.

Good way of looking at it.

I think it also helps that he was only with Conte and BALCO for that one fight, and achieved a lot before and after the DLH rematch. He also claims he didn't know EPO was illegal, which may be hard to believe, but you never know, these guys aren't biochemists. It's the same reason I can't really hate Margarito; I don't like him and I'm pretty sure he loaded his wraps, but I don't really know so judgement beyond the facts is arbitrary. Shane made a mistake, his reputation suffered, and has brought us exciting fights for a long time outside of that incident.

Some people hold grudges, and never let the **** go. Then you have fans like myself,if the guy cheated, then I'm cool with discrediting any wins he had while on steroids. But if he bounces bck and shows he can still be good, then he deserves some slack.

If berto or peterson continues to dominate and have impressive wins like Mosley's win over Margarito. Some fans will forgive those guys as well. But neither has been back in the ring since they was found cheating, that forgiveness has to be earned. Only can be earned by winning without the steroids.

agreed. although i think he loaded his gloves against Cotto and possibly a couple more, i dont hold a huge grudge and discrediting all of his wins and dont think he did it his whole career. it's his style of fighting that won his fights.

    Honest reason?

People like Mosely...thats pretty much the only reason I can think of.

On the other hand,a lot of people dont like JCC jnr on a personal level so they go ape **** over some mickey mouse diuretics.

I think the credit Mosley gets is for his willingness to fight any and all fighters when he was in his prime. For example, he fought Winky twice, and nobody wanted to ****ing fight Winky.

But Mosley was never more than a juiced B-level fighter, maybe B+
