Guys like ODLH, Mosley, Floyd, Roy Jones, all held IBA titles and the like whilst also holding major titles. Is this purely so they get the belt for their collection or what?

the only minor belt Floyd held was the IBO, that IBA belt that he got from the Baldomir fight I don't even think he wore it or even touched it. Hell he has a picture of all of his belts lying on a counter somewhere in here and that one ain't in it.

As for Jones Jr. it probably had more to do with bragging that he got all of them and was the unified linear champion than anything else, because what else was he supposed to do at the weigh, everyone he fought he made to look like unranked amateurs.

So you think these guys just offered them the belt for legitimacy? seems like the most logical answer.

Thats usually how it works, yes.

When IBF was in its infacy, it gave its HW belt to Larry Holmes.

I wasnt really thinking about them being new on the scene, just being **** belts. You wouldn't see Manny pacqiaou picking adding the WBU, WBF titles to his WBC belt, I just wasnt thinking!

Also I have noticed people picking up the IBO belt and vacating others, but i think thats more not wanting to pay extoritonate fees when your already considered the top guy or one of the top guys in the division.

You are right. Well, I dont know. Maybe they know the guys with the **** belts ? :think

Only ever seeing Toney call himself a champ while only having the IBA belt though..

(Australian fighters) seem to value the IBO as a "real" belt..

Hatton dropped the IBF belt while having the IBO belt, but I cant think of any others. I may be wrong though.

I thought Tarver may have done this but he just fought for it before picking up a big title and kept it, prett much how it was in the Pascal - Dawson - Hopkins mix until hopkins refused to pay the fees.
