Proof please, I know that losing weight can be an issue and cause that kind of illness but the man did make weight in the end. Where's your proof that him making weight is the reason this fight is POSTPONED NOT CANCELLED(Something you are overlooking here). Because there are reasons in life that could postpone fights or even cancel and not all reasons are the same, it's called coincidence, I don't know if you're a prophet or God his self but us normal people that have run into similar situations know about it well enough and know a lot about the ******s that try to make it sound negative when it's very normal. Sorry but Andre Agassi and Michael Jordan don't put their lives on the line and aren't set to be exchanging actual punches from other fellow professionals that spent their LIVES learning how to punch, Abraham is putting his life/health on the line and career. Then again, I wouldn't expect everyone to know any about that because it's far easier sitting behind that computer judging when you obviously know nothing about what these sportsmen go through. This isn't considered the most dangerous sport in the world for nothing.
If he can't fight, then he can't fight. But he should lose by DQ then and next time be better prepared. Personally, I don't think he should fight if he's sick. But if he wants to man up, I can think of worse. Jack Youngblood, LB of the LA Rams played in the 3 playoff games with a broken leg. Abraham's own corner and promoter made him finish a fight where his jaw was broken and he was losing blood like crazy. He lost like a quarter of his blood in that fight. I'm sure if the bell rang and after rd 1 he was complaining about not feeling well, you better believe they're not stopping that fight.
This is an IBF mandatory and therefore the IBF has set rules that say, that the promoter in charge has to reschedule the event in the next 8 weeks PLUS he has to pay expenses to all fighters and cornermen (including flight costs) TWICE - besides, the promoter also has to pay a venue fee, regardless if the event is staged or not...just look how much Sauerland has to pay without any reward - why should he do that if his fighter was ready to fight? Next time, read the rules book - Guzman vs. Campell was a voluntary...
I don't get it. The man wasn't feeling well, but you say he fought with a badly broken jaw that now has titanium plates, and you think he should lose his title because he is sick? :think
:boohoo You PBF apologists are too much. Do I get credit for coming in to work if I call in sick? No. Does a student get to postpone they're midterm or final because they're not prepared or sick? No, they get an F. Does Shawn Merriman get to postpone the Chargers season if his knee's messed up? I'm not saying he should fight. I'm saying he should lose the fight scheduled for October 4th for not showing up, regardless of his reasons.
I said theeeeere are...I said there are...so many great posters...in the boxing forum of the united states of Eastide boxiiiiiiiiing. I can only quote one...I can only choose oooooooooooooone! Tron-Chappelle show
He should've lost his title in his first fight against Miranda. He should lose his title this time for not showing up to fight, especially when the other guy is ready to fight. That's just my opinion.
I already gave you a response to that, but I'll change it a bit, maybe you will understand this time. About thinking he should lose the fight well, WELCOME TO THE RULES OF BOXING. :good
You're right. We should just shut our mouths and let the Alphabet Organizations run this sport however they see fit. They are, of course, the standard bearer of integrity for the sport. I'm not saying this is some kind of conspiracy. I'm just saying that if can't go at the start of the fight, then he should be DQ'd. Same for Guzman. Why is that so unreasonable?
Guzman won't even get the shot now -please read what I wrote in the other thread - I'm ok with you and everyone else having their opinions but if the rules say so me or you can't do a damn thing except to come up with another ABC organisation...but wait, wouldn't we be seen as shady as well by the public???
Boxing is an individual sport. Why should he lose his title? The fight is only post poned a month. What do you do with his title, give it to Marquez, or vacate it, and have Marquez and the next ranked fighter fight for his belt??????
