Why do heavyweights attend weigh-ins if there is no limit to their division?

I was just wondering for the first time why when they are so big these days, they still do weigh-ins. Sure in the days when they kept trimmer since cardio was more important, they needed to prove they were above the lower limit. But now surely its in most cases just ceremony?

Yeh its odd I never thought this through before, but I guess that what comes from being brought up before CWs came about.

The weigh-ins have always been about creating/buidling/adding hype. And that face to face a day before the fight, it's all about entertainment after all
