The HW division is the best there is.

Throw Pacquaio in against Audley Harrison and he gets destroyed.

    HW deserve more pay.

ali was what i new about boxing as a kid, then i watched holmes win a title against norton, i myself only saw many lighterweight fights when sugar ray leneard was in his pump against dave green , tommy hearns etc, my eyes were opened up to their speed and skills etc, i have to be honest i enjoy all boxing, but i don,t see why just being big means your entitled to more money than your lighter counterparts. ps i do think that all boxers should be paid well like on heavyweight lines.:good

It's not what they deserve, it's what they negotiate...and they can negotiate better purses since the casual fan and TV execs are more interested in them.

I'm not saying it's right but they are the facts.

Its a history thing, you ask a random person on the street to name a boxer of any era I would expect Ali and Tyson to be most popular. In the days of only having 1 champion per weight-class obviously the champ got paid more and the Heavyweights being the bigger stronger guys it was as though you were saying he was the strongest guy on the planet. The Jack Johnson story (for goodness sake Obama restore the man's name) is infamous of course, the fact he was a heavyweight made it even more known. Joe Louis is another case in point, whole neighbourhoods would gather round 1 wireless to listen to his fights. Of days gone by, with the fab 4 and the best ever SRR it tended to be the Heavyweight Champion of the World was the best fighter on the planet and was a huge name and achievement. Now the division is stale and there are more opportunities for paydays with the many organisations its not as applicable anymore. Until the U.S.A finds another sensational heavyweight to dominate the division it will stay that way
