Why do Hopkins fans say he was washed up when he fought Calzaghe?

naa mate Calzaghe scraped it SD overall, but yeah its blatantly clear that Calzaghe would have lost to a 5 -10 years younger Bhop wno'd have outskilled Cal over 12 rounds and not just 5.

You cant just win the first five rounds and then stop all gassed out, that wont win a 12 round fight. All the other guy needs to do is work more than you in the last 7 rounds and he gets the decision, no matter how well you did in the first 5.

I have always said I would pick the Hopkins from the 93 Jones fight H2H over the Hopkins that fought Calzaghe...

 

Why? B/c Hopkins has more excuses made for him than any fighter of his era.
