Why do I get tired in less then a minute when sparring If train real hard?

    When it comes to hitting the punching bag, double end ball and shadow boxing I can do 8 to 10 rounds with good intensity and I don’t get tired but when I get in the ring to do sparring my arms and legs feel very heavy with no energy, slow and I get tired in less then a minute, so I receive a lot of punches and feel powerless. I also do 30 min of roadwork or 45 min of stationary bike so I don't know what is wrong.

    Try the training section, also sparring is always a lot harder than hitting a bag.
    For one youre trying to avoid getting hit and trying to hit a non stationary target.

    You probably have not learned to breathe corectly and relax in the ring. It's amazing how much improper breathing can take away from you.

    yea this is what I heard.....I also think nerves and a bit of anxiety can screw up your breathing and make you feel tired quickly....it always used to happen to me at he beginning of basketball games but as I settled into the flow of the game I was fine.

    The problem is that even before I start throwing punches I feel heavy and weary.

    Try staying as loose as possible, just like when non sparring training. When most get in the ring, one or both tense up which zaps ones energy much quicker

    How can I learn to breathe correctly or its something that will come naturally. Do you have any tips you can give me?

    What could I do to be more relaxed and loose because I do feel very tense?

    You just have to learn to relax when you spar. It's just something that you will pick up as you spend more time in the ring. Be conscious as to how you are breathing but the most important thing is to try to relax. Once you do that, everything becomes easier.

    Thanks, so it's normal that this happens when someone starts doing sparring because it didn't make sense to me that I can throw 150 hard and fast punches to the bag for 8 rounds and to get tired with less then 10 punches sparring.

    OP should look into getting some of those Fluid IV bags...... I heard you never get tired with those.

    It's very normal. As you become more comfortable sparring, you will find it easier to relax and your stamina will improve.

    It sounds to me like you're exerting yourself too much before sparring and your muscles are fatigued. How many times do you spar a week?

    Also there is a thing as Muscle Memory and if your body is not conditioned to do High intensity training then you will experience a lot of Fatigue. Try Low intensity training on days you spar so that your body gets used to it, then when you become more conditioned sparring will get a lot easier for you. You have to crawl before you walk man!
