Counter-punching: 'Bout even. Duran's counter right was sneaky as hell, but Floyd's bread and butter are his counters.

Feints: Duran.

Footwork: Duran was better on the front foot, Floyd off the back foot. I think Duran's abilty to circle was a little bit better than Floyd's ability to walk a guy down. Not too much in this, but edge Duran.

Ring IQ: Duran was really good at drawing guys into his kind of fight when so inclined. Manos could struggle a bit with movers, though. Floyd's ability to adjust is pretty impressive, though. Not much to split 'em.

I respectfully disagree pbf is one of the best counter punchers in the history of the sport his pull counter was a thing of beauty and ridiculously hard to pull off. Duran simply isn't in his class when it comes to countering hell he's not even in pea whitaker ability of countering.

Footwork pbf hands down pbf could fight at all ranges while Duran couldn't he had trouble with movement. Pbf has never shown that liability.

Ring IQ you have never seen pbf frustrated like Duran was when he quit against srl. If he had a great ring iq he would have figured out a way to make the neccesary adjustments to deal with srl. Guys with great ring IQ don't quit when things aren't going their way they make adjustments and prevail.

 

Not really. Duran is an another level compared to Floyd. My trainer has all of us watch Duran's fights because he's the best fighter who's ever been on film extensively.

He can do everything. He can score points because he's aggressive. He can shift, which is something I've tried to learn, but found hard to do. His body punching is absolutely perfect. His feints are magical. His inside fighting is magnificent. Duran actually has the advantage in countering as well.

Also SRL is vastly superior to Floyd's toughest opponents. The guys that Floyd fought in the condition he fought them in were literally bums compared to Duran's competition. Straight bums.

Floyd wouldn't have made adjustments to Leonard or Hearns either because he would be picking his teeth up off the canvas. I'd bet my life that Floyd would get completely obliterated by Hearns and Hagler. And I'd bet my car that he gets KO'ed by Leonard too. You just simply don't realize that Floyd's competition were bums compared to Duran!!!

You know a fighter has a great record when people argue *when* they fought elite fighters and are not able to list who they dodged. Lastly Duran was not as good of a counter puncher as pbf was Duran wasn't even as good as pea Whitaker when it came to countering. No pull counters he couldn't counter with the hook like pbf could its hilarious to even suggest it. Hopkins toney hell arguably jmm is a better counter puncher than Duran is.
