Why do Idiots think Floyd Mayweather had more talented than a prime Roberto Duran?

Look man. I'm getting a little carried away here because I get a little passionate about this stuff. Boxing is very important to me. And Duran is God in our gym and Floyd is trashed on regularly too BTW.

But here's my point. I think you know that Duran fought not just better competition, but vastly superior fighters. I think you know that.

But what you're not doing is giving Duran enough slack for being troubled by truly great fighters. In addition, his prime ended after Montreal (and he fought most those guys after Montrel), so I think it's important to keep that in mind.

All this from a Margo fan that's hilarious. Don't you have work to do old man? You're supposed to be trying to prove the CSAC framed Margo and he's innocent.:yep

Of course he's trashed most are jealous and bitter of his skills andthe fact that he beat some of their heroes and they never got to see him humbled in the ring or take that L. Hell if if was a pbf hater I'd be mad to:D

He has 6 losses in the amateurs, and a loss to Jose Luis Castillo. We've seen him humbled 7 times.

He was hitting prime, was coming off a win against Caraballo. He was in very good condition against Duran. He was the smaller guy, but he also outweighed Duran by 1.75 lbs. Duran was a novice. Things cancel out.

Amateurs don't count and the last time I checked he was 2-0 against jlc and his career record was 49-0.:yep

It was apparent that he either was, or was going to be special when he fought Duran (and of course, the same could be said of a young Roberto).

That said, he hadn't peaked and was fighting at the highest weight of his career to that point, against someone who was consistently fighting at 130lbs at that point.

Plus, the stoppage was shyte. Duran was ahead on points and would have won a clear decision, but Marcel looked to be in no danger or shipping any real punishment when the official stopped the contest. Panamanian stoppage, to be certain.

Hell of win, though. From his pro debut (Mendoza would go on to challenge and extend Bazooka Gomez in a crack at the 122lb title) to Buchanan, Duran did rack up some nice scalps in between those periods when he was laying waste to the rank and file.

Ya instead he just focused on B and C+ fighters, or those who used to be great but were long past their due date when the fought Floyd.

In fairness, Floyd fought a lot of those guys when he was past his best, too.

Cat food???? There's a movie coming out called "Hands of Stone" with Robert DeNIro playing Arcel, perhaps you heard of these two guys? or sadly not.

I'm pretty sure, Duran will be compensated quite handsomely for a movie about his life, what do you think?

    Maybe, hard to say.

I do know that Floyd never faced the best Oscar there was, I do know that Floyd never faced the best SMM there was, and I do know that FLoyd never faced the best Pac there was, but Duran did face, and beat the best, or near best, version of SRL.

I think Floyd's a terrific fighter (correction boxer), but I still think at his very best Oscar would likely beat him, and SSM vs Mayweather at 135 would also be a challenge.

Theres so much wrong with this post I dont even know where to begin. What are all these so called ludricous demands made by Floyd?? I recall DLH dragging him up to 154 and forcing him to wear 10oz reyes, but no one had a problem or thought it was unfair for Floyd not to be allowed his preferred brand.

And Floyd's hometown is Grand Rapids Michigan. He chose to move to las vegas and purchased a home there. Any other fighter is free to do the same.

And there is no suspicion, USADS and NSAC have both said he did nothing wrong and considered the matter closed. The only people still harping on this are delusional haters hanging on to the word of 3rd rate journalist.

Simple question, who do you rate higher as an ATG, Duran or Mayweather?

Oscar didn't face the best Floyd. Floyd isn't a 154lb fighter. And why is Oscar diminished for being 34 and coming off a sensational KO win? Floyd's been past his best for years now but no one criticizes his opponents for fighting a "past his best Floyd" People like to mention Maidana I giving him a tough fight, but conveniently forget to mention that Floyd was 37 and giving up 17lbs. The excuses only apply to Floyd's opponents I guess:-(
