I wrestled in high school and have my ears in tact because of head-gear.... Go to wrestling practice without it and then see how your ears feel, then you will realize why califlower ear haunts grapplers.

i quit wrestling in school becuase they never clean the equipment. **** ive gotten ring worm twice on my arm and leg and to this day the hair that grows in is thin. plus head gear is important just dont borrow or trust the schools equipment you better wipe it down. i just wish they had crocs around when i was a kid

Its not that simple. Many MMA fighyrtd use headgear when they spar. In fact I'd say these days when I go around to different gyms where people are doing the MMA thing, its much more comon to see folks wearing headgear for MMA than not.

It is much more common in wrestling, and I had to get that **** drained ASAP- no way am I going to keep a jacked up looking ear like that the rest of my life. It's from microscopic cuts that happen under the surface of the ear from rolling around and friction. Blood rushes to the area, but can't really escape it. Over time, if I remember correctly, it calcifies and basically becomes a screwy looking bone in the ear.
