..... get their faces bruised or swollen? Can this happen to Floyd too? Note that Manny is wearing 8 oz. Reyes gloves.in their fight but Floyd disallowed Maidana for wearing MX gloves in their last fight for some reasons.
Floyd is better defensively than any of the guys Manny has faced so far, but then again Maidana landed on him a lot and I think Manny's angles are even more crazy than his. I don't know, guess we'll find out in a few months.
Manny's opponents get their faces bruised, on account of Manny hitting them hard in the face. If Manny hits Floyd hard in the face, then yes, his face also, can swell and bruise. Any more science questions?
If Maidana was able to bust Mayweather up, then I expect Pacquiao's aggression to do the same if not worse.
Floyd's getting bloodied up for sure. If he thinks Cotto hit him a lot, he's in for a long damn night against Pacquiao and I think he knows that. I'm still picking Floyd to win by decision, but he's going to go through psychological hell to get the win in this fight. Because he, much like all the rest of Pac's opponents, is in for a rude awakening when he actually feels what he's like in the ring. :deal
Manny doesn't hit guys on the back of their head/nape region. Marcos is taller and has a longer reach than Manny, so when he had Floyd on the ropes, he was able to nail him with a lot of illegal blows to the back of the head and back. He did also nail him intermittently with clean, solid body shots. Also, Maidana did his most effective work fighting in close quarters with Mayweather pinned on the ropes, he looked awful in the center of the ring. Manny isn't an inside fighter who likes to pin guys on the ropes and exchange with them for long periods of time. He's also about 2 inches shorter and has almost a 5 inch reach disadvantage compared to Floyd. So while Maiden and Manny might be aggressive fighters, their styles of aggression are vastly different.
I think too much is being made of both of these guys declines and punch outputs. Neither one of them has been REALLY tested in a long time. Sure Pac got sparked out cold, but up until that point he was controlling that fight and busting up JMM. When either one of these guys feel the other gaining an edge in the fight, they are going to pick up the pace. And that means a lot of punches are going to be landed on Floyd and Pac. Floyd has shown he can get busted up before, and he will in this fight again. Win or lose. These two are the most elite fighters of our generation, and have the best stamina in the sport. Both can fight a full/hard 12 rounds if they have to. :deal
IDK Maidana's aggression was pure dirty tactics, and his style is even more unorthodox than pac. If Pac couldn't bust up Bradley I highly doubt he can bust Floyd up who's levels above Bradley in defense.
I agree with the Bradley ****ogy. I would love to see Pac break Floyd's face but I think that is going to be a tall order consider he really couldn't get to Bradley. Pac only seems to be able to do that to people that come at him a little.
Defence is not only avoiding the shots, Bradley's (then) work rate was unmatched in the division which is a huge defence on it's own.
