However, Margarito couldn't make 147 anymore and it was obvious to anyone with 20/20 vision that he had to drain himself in order to make the 150lb catchweight - probably due to the long layoff and having been a career welter.

Gatti, OTOH, had no problems making 140.

There are no comparisons to be made between Gatti Gamache and Pacquiao Margarito.

If Pacquiao is supposed to be some kind of "warrior" for fighting bigger men, why then have all of the catchweights?

 

So why didn't he fight Williams and fought shot Margarito instead?

Pac had no business fighting anybody at that weight in the first place, he was already small at WW. At 154 he's a midget. Did you see the size difference in margarito?? Pac said hes never going to that weight again and for good reason.
