Why do people act that Ward would be great?

I think you're understating Wards skill quite a bit.

 

The White Power brigade make it difficult to be a Kovalev fan.

Kovalev himself acknowledges Ward's massive ring IQ but for some reason his braindead fans think it is all about power.

This could be a one side masterclass in Ward's favour for all we know.

 

I'm looking forward to it and hope it happens. One of the few things I agree with Shockmaster about is the winner of this fight is the new #1 P4P fighter.
Ward is highly skilled and is not going to be an easy win for Kov.

 

Because Ward has already proved he's a great fighter by beating Froch, Kessler, Abraham, a drained but still dangerous Dawson.
And he is looking good at 175lbs so far.

Kovalev himself thinks very, very highly of Ward.
Win or lose, Ward is still going to prove to be a truly great fighter.

 

You do realize the exact same guy put Kovalev down too, right? This is a 50/50 fight, or very close to it.

 

I like Ward but he gets praised toi much nowdays and it's probably due his nationality. His best wins are against good fighters that have flaws and have been beaten by others (Froch, abraham, Kessler). And it has been four years since he fought any top 5 competition.

Don't get me wrong, i feel he has done good in the past, but last four years indicates he's hardly a top 10 p4p anymore.

 

And Ward doesn't have the power to exploit it. Also Ward got rocked by Boone as well, and unlike Ward, Kovalev does have power to exploit Ward's glass jaw lol.

 

To be honest, he probably could.

Put a prime 31 year old a level fighter in front of him well see how good that power does

Ya I know ward does t have power ....but he just has to be accurate and crisp with punches to beat kova....he don't need to knock him out .....I was just pointing out that if u wanna knock ward for having a cut from barrera then u can point out kova glass

 

Well Cleverly is out straight away, Ward would totally school him, different class of boxers altogether. Pascal, again, I don't see how he'd beat Ward other than a puncher's chance (and it's not like Pascal is some monstrous hitter either), Hopkins I think could make it tricky but Ward is almost the younger version of him, I think in the end his youth would prevail over him for a UD, I'd certainly not pick any of them to beat Ward.

 

lol, that's an abysmal record. and considering Ward was medicated by Victor Conte and went in the ring with his bodyguard Jack Reiss against Kessler, that Froch was beaten before and he was never a great boxer just a tough mother****er with an iron jaw and heavy hands and that AA is just complete garbage i dare say that Ward's record is worse that GGG. And i'm not even talking about that Clownson f**** of a fight
